Im not sure how much they cost but try getting the Laura RS rims from your Skoda dealership. No other rims suit the Laura more and I guess they would be of much better quality than other rims available in the market.

Yeah, they quoted 50k for a set of 4 15". That works out to 12.5k per rim for a 15" so I expect the 16" to be around 15k or so minimum.

Alloys for Skoda Laura

Hey Guys,

I'm lookin for a "good" Set of alloys and tyres for my 08 Laura, wanna upgrade from 16" to 17"....would request anybody to post pics of summin similar they've already carried out or any recommendations that you might have would be much appreciated....can always google for the pics...i have a preference for summin with a lip

BTW the current tyres are the stock 205's 16" cant remember the profile though so prob lookin to go to a 225 17" and would like to know what the apt profile would be???

Dont have a budget in mind but not lookin to sell the car anytime soon so probably can justify a "long term investment"

At the same time dont wanna sell the car to buy wheels so lets not be recommending anything like some limited edition Kahn's which a got a quote for about (hold your breath) 98000/wheel (1200 pounds) and thats without tyres

Boom

Stick to 16 in

I went around today looking to upsize my wheels to 17" dia. First off, the guy who sells the wheels told me frankly that there are problems with the aftermarket alloys when fitted to Skodas and Mercs. He mentioned wobbling. When I asked about original Skoda 17" wheels - he said if they are original - the wheels might be good - but the profile of the tyres reduces too much and there will be no cusioning left. He warned about damage to tyres and rims due to reduced cusioning. I checked with the Skoda showroom on availability of 17 in rims. They are available and cost Rs.16000/- each. I do not want to pay 64 K for a set of wheels.

So now I am back to working out the best options for my 6.5 J 16 rims. I think that 215/55 R16 or 225/55 R16 should work best as my car now has a Pete's box. The 215/55 or 225/55 would give the wheels a marginally bigger dia. without bulging etc. The 225/50 on the other hand would make my wheels smaller increasing pick up but reducing top speed and FE. Aaaaargh - decisions, decisions.....decisions........

Cheers,

215/55R16 and 225/55R16 are both wrong profiles.

Its either the 205/55R16 or 225/50R16.

Do contact Ishan / KPZEN for the best suggestions.
