Tyre change for Ford Fiesta 1.6S ?

Folks,

I have ordered my Ford Fiesta 1.6S and should receive the vehicle in tentatively 2 weeks time.

I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to change the stock tyres that come with the car to a different manufactures/model. The car currently comes with Goodyear Eagle NCT5 195/55 R15 tyres.

I intend to keep the same size but would want tyres that are low on road noise and good for comfort/grip. Satisfied if they last around 30,000km.

Please feel free to comment if I should leave the Goodyear NCT5 on, or whether I should exchange these for a different type.

Thanks in advance.

Have driven ksathee46's 1.6S. Ride is not too bad for 55 profiles. As for the grip, he said he never felt the need for more grip with his sane-fast driving on the ECR.

Thanks Nitrous, but the reason I asked is that the NCT5 is only a midrange tyre compared to the rest of the options available from Goodyear, Goodyear has "assurance", "excel" and "eagle F1" after this.

Passenger

After reading couple of reviews on the same I found couple of comments about the NCT5 tyres being very noisy, though on couple of T-bhp members have also found the Goodyear F1 too not upto the mark, whereas there are lots of other reviews mentioning that it is a good tyre.
If you see the below reviews on tirerack.com, the first review is for the NCT5 whereas the second review is for the Eagle F1, a major difference.

Since exchanging tyres would get me a good price on the old ones when they are hardly used (just out of showroom vehicle), I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to go in for an exchange for a different tyre manufacturer/model.

Suggestions are welcome.

195/55 R15 has limited options, Yokohama S-Drive & Advan Neova are two of them.

EDIT: Also Apollo Accelere & Potenza GIII.

The stock tire in the 1.6S is very good, But the problem with me is i have not experienced the other options so I really cant comment if something is missing in the stock tyre, Was even telling nitrous about this. And yes it was a bit noisy on the highway.

Thanks Sathee, the noise is one of the reasons I'm keen to change to a different set of tyres. I do couple of long distance drives on the GQ and having a good set of less noisy tyres helps me listen to my music in peace at high speeds.

Folks, after reading through lots of reviews on the forum I found that the best experiences people have had are with the Michelin tyres, particularly the Michelline PP2, unfortunately for me I can't find a single model of Michelin tyres sold in India in the size (195/55R15) that's in use on the Fiesta 1.6S :-(
I guess they don't sell Michelins in 195/55R15 in India. Guess I have limited options.

AE - I mentioned all options available to you in my post above. Michelin does not have 195/55 in any tread.

Hi Guys, I finally found a dealer in Pune who's willing to exchange my existing 195/55R15 Goodyear NCT 5 tyres for Yokohama 195/55R15 S. Drive tyres.
Problem is the buck that he's charging, his charges are 12,000 for exchanging 4 tyres. He claims the low exchange value cos of the odd Fiesta 1.6S tyre size.

What do you guys feel about changing it for 12K ? Is it really worth it ?

Hw would be partly right. 195/55 R15 is not standard on any other car in our market. only people upsizing would be buying it.

Hey guys,
I am tentatively planning on changing our fiesta's tyres.
Right now it is on the Stock MRF ZV2K's.
Since it is a diesel, I don't want to go to up the ladder as I believe that the performance will decrease.
What tyres and what size would you guys suggest?
Need better grip and comfort than the MRF's. I will be driving the car 4 months a year and it will be chauffeur driven the rest of the time.
Suggestions will be appreciated greatly.
Also, are the Samurai SC03 tyres available in 14" in black? And any idea as to what price?
Here's a pic of the tyres. Think they would look good on a silver fiesta. What say guys?

the current standard footwear of fiesta is 175/65 R14.
i wanted to get alloys for it so had few questions!!
1) isn't 185/65 R14 a right upgrade(planning for that only later)??
2)would the same alloy fit both the above sizes?
3)i have been told 4k/HR alloys??is that reasonable!!
4)whats the cost of 185/65 R14 michellin XM1+ tyres??

Experts - Need your suggestions and recommendations for my Fiesta Tyre change.

Car : Ford Fiesta TDCi Zxi - 2006 Model
Current Tyre : Stock Tyres - MRF - 175/65 14" - Steel Rim (No Alloys)
Current KMs Run : 39800 KMs
Current Tyre Condition : Badly needs a change

Tyre requirement : Good comfort and ride quality.
Not much difference in Mileage
Better performance than the MRF
thinking of upsizing to 185/60 14" or to 195/60 14"

Tyres that i have in mind : a) Bridgestone Tournanza ER60 175/65/14"
b) Bridgestone Potenza GIII 175/65/14"
c) Michelin XM1 Energy
d) Any other recommendations?

Please pour in your suggestions
