Team-BHP - Ford Fiesta : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Finally settled with Bridgestone Turanza ER60 175/65/R14....

i was deliberate to get Michelin Energy XM1 Plus.. But the dealers near by my area didn't had stock :( and i was looking for 8 tyres (4 for me and 4 for me Brother-in-law).. So had to settle with Turanza ER60 since my car badly needs a tyre change.

Price per Tyre: Rs.3325/-
Dealer : Sri Venkateshwara Tyres, BTM layout, Blore

The dealer charged me Rs.500 for Wheel alignment and balancing for both the Fiesta's.

So - howz the car now?
Its Good. Road noise has reduced. Ride quality has improved, but not sure it might be due to brand new tyres :)

Will post more about the new tyres..

i guess the stock tyres on fiesta are MRF ZV2K,how much could i expect to get on brand new ones that has been driven for just 50 kms??
and what about michellin XM1+ 185/65 R14??how much would brand new costs?

i did inquire about the XM1+ at the mentioned size and was told 3750 and my stock would be taken for 2k.

i did look in both these tyre profiles and seemed 65 was preferred over 60 by many.thats why im planning to get the 185/65.
anyways il inquire about the above mentioned tyres too.

i was also looking at 195/60 R14 or going to 15" but im sure the FE will go down.i was curious to know whether the FE drop is comparable to each other in the above 2 profiles!!

I guess one can expect a 0.5-1 kmpl drop in efficiency with a conversion from 14" to 15"

I too am facing the same difference. ( Hovers between 11-11.5 as compared to 12 earlier- NHC VTEC)

I had been doing a similar research about tire sizes for my fiesta a few months ago. I stopped at the point when I was told by Ford that warranty would get void on tire change. And I didn't want to lose out on the money I've spent on extended warranty.

By the way I've been running on stock tires for 6 months and its not too bad. Depends on how you drive. I'm a sedate driver and I drive mostly in the city. So far I've not felt the need to change my tires.

Getting the Fiesta's tyres changed soon.
Lot of jhol happened when I was in the U.S, which I wasn't informed about.
When I landed, I saw new MRF ZVTS (Yes the tube ones) on the car and I was like ***!
Then I found a pair of new Goodyear Eagle NCT 5's, 185/65R14 meant for the palio waiting to be put on and I am thinking of a swap, as the Palio is going to be parked more than it will be used by me and the fiesta is the daily drive.
Even though the NCT 5's aren't as good as the Yokohama's, they will definitely do the job well, right?

Alloys will take some time though. Maybe another 6 months, Maybe longer. And for all I know, they might not even happen if we decide to upgrade the car.

guys any ideas about pressure to be maintained in 185/65 R14.i had kept it at 30psi but the ride feels harsh on the otherwise smooth XM1+.i feel there is a lot of road noise heard inside the car too.

I have a Fiesta 2007, SXi TDCi with stock tyres (MRF) and alloy wheels (Ford 9 spokes). Tyres have run 31000 KMs, I would like to upgrade the tyres after some time but would like to see if there is any upgrade that can increase the ground clearance. Could any of the experts help?
Will changing the tyre size increase the ground clearance?
Do I need to upgrade the alloy wheels too?
