Hmmm.. Well, I am not very very concerned about the mileage factor. But since you told me that 205 would touch the wheel arc and that has got me thinking. Pune roads are bad then Banglore ones for sure. If 205 is gonna touch the base then I really think I should move back to 195.

Any more Swift owners with 205 profile, please comment on this, highly appreciated.

With a 205/50/15 size, the ride quality would be a bit harsh because of the lower profile. You need to ensure the tyre pressure is accurate to reduce the impact of the tyres going into potholes and going on rumbling strips.

You may feel a bit heavier steering due to the upsize as well. I feel that in my lancer with the 205/55/15.

However, the grip levels are fantastic and this is an understatement.

The positive point with ES-100 is that they are available in 14" but S-drives start from 15". I would have closed my eyes and bought S-drives if they were available in 195/60-14 size.

Any other tires in 195/60-14 which offer a blend of decent ride quality packed with decent grip?

Try Good Year Eagle Ventura. Grip comparable with ES100, ride quality is better, but tyre noise is on the higher side.

DJ, are you looking for performance tires?
If yes then go for Michelin PP2s they are quiet resonable in 14".

If not than go for XM1+.

I am looking for tires that offer good ride and handling in ratio of 40:60.

PP2's are not available in 195/60-14. I will have to buy PP1 in that size.

I think XM1+ will offer what i am looking for.

No, not available. If you're hell bent on 195/60 R14 you can go in for Advan Neova's.

PP1 is an excellent tyre by all means & there is not much of a difference between PP1 & PP2.

How much do they cost? ie. 195/60 14 Neovas and PP1?

I guess Neova's would have the best grip among the tyres being discussed here. Will they therefore 'restrict' initial acceleration more?
