Goodyear Assurance tyres, Triplemax 2 launched

As the thread title states, are the new Assurance tyres available here? Does anyone have any more details of the tyres like sizes available and price?

Seems to have a good review from Indian auto mags.

There are two types of Assurance tyres, one is the comfortred and the other is the performance oriented tripletred. The lower layers have kevlar(bullet proof material) which are said to be stronger than other tyres.

More details here:

Goodyear Assurance

Goodyear Assurance TripleTred

Goodyear Assurance ComforTred

Yes, limited sizes are already available here but the coverage is patchy.

The media is screaming a lot about this tyre, almost all auto magazines have published a article on this tire,is it because they were invited to some other country at the time of launch and were well taken care of? or is this tyre so good?

Those tires which media talked about were the Assurance ComforTred and Assurance TripleTred. The Assurance tire being launched in India and other countries like Phillippines are different from these two and they are termed as ArmorGrip. Cant find a review on this tire yet. But the former two tires seems to be very good .

Any updates on the performance of the assurance tires? How do they compare with XM1+ and Yoko A drives? Are they in the same price range?

They are strictly ok. Best used for Taxis and people who have a very very high running. They last long. They are of course marketed as tyres which will last for 1 lakh kms, but dont believe that. However, they should last really long.

Grip, Noise, comfort levels are just ok. Ride is especially very hard.

One good thing though is that the Goodyear Assurance comes with a warranty most Indians love. Warranty not just for manufacturing defects but even external damages. They say if there is any damage to your tyre which makes it unusable, then they will replace it. Maybe not 100%, but if your tyre has 50% tread left, then you get 50% off on the tyre. Something like that.

Reviews sound good from foreign media, wrt handling and breaking esp in wet. Ride should be hard if it has tougher side wall and thread area.

Am getting ideas

Nikhil it's the Goodyear Duraplus that comes with a 1 Lakh Kms mileage claim not the Goodyear Assurance.

Again I think you're wrong here, ride quality on the assurance is nowhere near 'hard' on the contrary it's quiet a low noise comfortable tyre.

The unconditional warranty works like this,if your tyre has 50% of tread left and is damaged and rendered useless even apart from a manufacturing defect the company shall replace it for free. Beyond 50% tread wear you're charged on a pro-rata basis.
