My Palio 1.2 finally adorns Alloys & Tubeless tires!

My long-planned wheels upgrade finally happenend yesterday (03-Jun-08), I was waiting for my car to reach the 25K kms milestone, though I acheived the miles last month, had to wait for another month coz the Alloys & Tubeless tyres of my preferred brand & size were not in stock & the tyre dealer had to order & get the same.

So finally, alloys & tyres reached the dealer & I drove to his shop y'day and got the new shoes fitted on to my Car!

Alloys: Aura (Model No: E01455)
Price: Rs.17,600/- for 5 pcs.

Tyres: Michelin Energy XM1+ (185/65 R14)
Price: Rs.3360/- per peice.

Other charges:
Wheel Alignment: Rs.200
Tubeless Puncture kit: Rs.300

Dealer: Sai Iyengar & Sons, new Shop at Domlur, Bangalore

Initial impressions:
Alloys definitly enhances the looks of the Car, and with the Michelin tires, the wheels itself is now a head turner!

I can feel better steering control, also feel steering is slightly light-weighted too.

Braking has greatly improved, able to do tight corners at bit high speeds.

Ride comfort is awesome, feels like driving on a carpet, just glides over pot-holes and rough patches with ease. Enjoyed this part!

Now some pics:

Nice setup, me too had same set of alloys in 13" size.
Nuts look out of place compared to wheel/car for me.

Finney, congrats on the choice of alloys and tires. I hope that the alloys are 98 pcd ones.

Can anyone say a thing or two about the comparison between Bridgestone Potenza GIII vs Michelin Energy XM1? I am planning to choose between these two for my tire upgrade for the Palio.

Congrats Finney!

Great choice of tires and alloys. The car looks hot now! We need a detailed review of the tires - Affect on Pick-up, FE, road noise etc

Hey Finney.

Great set of wheels & tyres. I think these are the only choices we have in 98PDC from Aura.

It will be great if you can post why you went with XM1+. Did you have some other tyres also in mind before you zeroed on the XM1+?
