You wont get too much for your stokc alloys. You can go for 16" but I wouldnt suggest it. It will ruin the ride quality.

Aditya, Why do you want to replace the stock alloys ? You could consider it when u have steel rims. Better stick with the stock alloy & stock size itself, they are more than enough for innova in my opinion.

IMHO the 2011 Innova alloys look better than the current ones so ask the dealer for a swap if you like that design.

Finally, instead of changing factory fitted alloys that have the perfect offset as well as hub alignment (With some alloys you might face vibrations at high speeds as the alloy centre hole doesnt sit tight over the car hub) ..you can evaluate upgrading the current 205/65R15 tires to 225/60R15.

This is a functional upgrade as it will improve the grip by a very signifcant amount. It will also make the car stance look better as the tires look fatter. The only downside might be a very marginally lower mileage (I havent felt it thoough. With 225/60 tires, I get better mileage compared to my friend who has stock tires. So guess any reduction is more theoretical in nature).

If negotiated with a tire dealer in advance it may only cost INR 8-10k for 5 tires upgrade. Get bridgestone OEMs, they will swap at a higher price.

Please dont go for 16" alloys. It will make the ride very firm and also damage the suspension due to the lack of cushioning that a people mover like Innova sorely needs.

18k is actually a very good price. However, I still wouldnt advise it!

Just want to add that the original Innova alloys cost nearly INR 55k for a set of 5 - at least on the 2011 model.

re: Toyota Innova : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

What is the width of stock innova alloy?
Our car was delivered today, and we upgraded to 225 section tyre and kept the stock 15" alloy.
Now I feel that the tyres are ballooning.

I will post pictures tomorrow.

If its ballooning, then would I need to upgrade to a 6.5j or a 7j rim?

225s are fine on the stock alloys, they do look a bit wide but are perfectly fine. No need to worry or spend on changing the alloys.

Innova comes with 6J alloys that are within the limit for mounting 225 section tires. I have the same setup - 225/60 on original 15 Inch alloys for the past 37k kms and it has performed brilliantly as far as grip and handling go.
They will bulge out a wee bit but do the job pretty well....so dont bother is what I would say.
BTW I hope you upgraded to 225/60 and not 225/65

Yes, the tyres are Yoko C-Drive 225/60-R15
I am attaching the pictures on the upgraded tyres with stock alloys.

I have the same tires and this bit of bulge is normal. BTW C.Drives have soft sidewalls and so please take care while pulling back on kerb - my wife burst one recently as she drove the car over a wall.
I think I will buy the C.Drive again as they are noise free even at 37k mark and grip pretty well in the wet.

I too have C-Drve driven 58000 Km till today and might go for another 20K easily. They never let me down anywhere so far.

re: Toyota Innova : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

C-Drives are excellent.
Decent grip, low noise and built to last.

This is my third set of C-Drives on Innova.
Have already used 2 sets on the old innova and got the same tyres for the new one.

Very happy with the tyres.

re: Toyota Innova : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

My friends 2009 Innova running on stock goodyears has completed ~49k kms.

Tires have "May 2009" as manufactured date.

Are these tires good for another 10-20k kms?
