Upgrade for UVA to 15"
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-alloy-wheel-section/45281-upgrade-uva-15-a.html)
Hello guys,
My UVA is now 3 months young with 3800 km done.
I am done with ICE upgrade, thanks to Ramie Sir.
Now next possible upgrade I see is for rims. The current are the standard Chevy Alloys 14" with 185/60 R14 Goodyear Eagle NCT5.
I have nothing against the tires or alloys that I have currently.
I think UVA can accomodate 15" rims easily with 195/60 R15 tires.
I am thinking of getting the Chevy rims again from dealer. It may sound stupid but I need that Chevy Badge on rims :). If you guys can help me in getting a good sticker with Chevy Badge then I have no issues.
Before I goahead, I wanted to evaluate few options from outside. I have a combined budget of 40k for Alloys and tires.
My questions
1. Can UVA accomodate 15" with 195/60 profile tires? Will I face any issue while turning?
2. How does that improve / affect ride?
3. How does it affect FE?
4. Any effects on ABS functioning or warranty if I get these from outside?
5. Good set of tires with Low road noise and soft ride?
6. Any other information which you would like to share depending on your experience from 14' to 15" upgrade
Thanks Guys.
The current size your using is 185/60 R14.
195/50 R15 should be a good tyre upsize for U-VA,I am using the same in my getz,if you want i'll arrange 1tyre+rim for you to see how it fits :)
Yokohama S-drive give give you lownoise and comfort+performance handling.
With 15's your car will look hot,do install some Red neons under the car for more aggressive looks.
Ramie :)

1. No, it won't accomodate 195/60-15. Its a wrong upsize. 195/50-15 is correct upsize but i feel its too much for that engine.
2. With 15" wheels the ride quality will go down.
3. Expect a drop of 1-2kmpl. Rest will depend on your driving manners.
4. If upsize is correct then ABS should function properly. Warranty will partly depend on your relation with Chevy dealer..
5. Michelin(PP) or Yokohama(S drives) 195/50-15.

Thanks Ramie for the option
Thanks KP. That link provided much information than I ever had. Looks like the upgrade for me is 195/50 R15.
The adverse effect on ride quality is not desirable here.
Any effects on ride quality and FE if I keep 14" and upgrade to 195/60 R14.
