These days, almost all tyres are good. You just need to prioritise you needs and go for the one that satisfies them.

hi guys, even i am currently searching for new shoes for my palio.with regard to the stock s322,i have observed that road noise is slightly too high.drove my uncle's fiesta sxi shod with mrf zv2k and the ride was much better and so also the road noise.
if one were to take road noise into consideration, would indian brands be a safer bet?i want to know among the appolo accelere and mrf.
removing indian brands,i guess its better to buy the potenza g3 right?will there be a mileage drop if i upsize to 185 size?

I suggest you Appolo accelere if you are on budget or Potenza GIII if you love grip .

I would advise you NOT to go for the Michelin Energy XM1, especially if you would be driving on rough surfaces. Energy tyres are not really suited to bad roads with stones and potholes etc, since they have a lighter construction compared to 'normal' tyres. So what works on American roads might not be the best for us.

I changed my Palio's (ELX) wheels and tyres last week. Upsized from the stock rubber to Michelin Pilot Preceda 205 15R/50s. I left the spare tyre stock. I got them shod on 15" HRs. Dunno the model number of the alloys. I'll be posting pics in the garage soon.

HUGE difference (improvement) in handling and grip. The ride is a bit (ok, quite a bit) harsher on city roads, but on the highway, the feeling of floating on air has to be felt to be believed! At the same time the car feels solidly planted on the road too.

The michelins cost me 5200/- apiece. (Alloys extra, of course). 6 year warranty. Bought them at Kochi.

Hydrashok,

Does the increase in Section Width from 175 to 205 cause any fouling of the tyre with the car body ?

Regards
