I have a 2000 model Santro Zip Drive and a 2006 Xing. The older one has done around 45-50K and I may have to change its tyres soon. On the other hand I have been eying alloys/ upsize for my new Xing. So-

1) Can I replace the whole rim+tyre of ZipDrive with Xing ones? (then I can buy a new alloy+tyre set for Xing). (I think this is not possible but needs confirmation)

2) If above is not possible then can I only replace the tyres of Zipdrive with Xing tyres, keeping the rim on Zipdrive.

3) How much budget do I need to get new alloys + better tyres on my Xing (I don't want tyres which can reduce my FE. Ride comfort enhancement would be nice)

Thanks for anyone who answers.

1) Should be possible. 99% sure.
3)Around 25k for decent quality alloy rims and tyres.

You can swap the tyres for sure. But I'm not sure about the wheel rims. Some older santro models were shipped with 98 PCD wheels whereas Xing has 100 PCD wheels.

You seem totally right. As luck would have it my ZipDrive had a flat tyre this morning, I tried to fit the spare of Xing but it wouldn't fit :Frustrati

I also noted the tyre details - both have Brigestone S220(?) with "170/55 R13 75S" specs - What is this 75S mean?

Ah....a slight typo in mail above - its 155/70 and not 170/55

hey DDguy, you can put the new xing tyres on the rim of the old santro without issues and keep the xing rim for one tyre as stepney as you generally get set of 4 Alloys.:)
