Never mind -I went ahead with the Michellin Primacy 3ST 195/60 upsize at Lokmany Tyres, karve road, Pune. Damages were 5.8K per tyre.

Already clocked 150 kms on new tyres. I must confess the car handling has improved dramatically over the stock tyres, the ride is cushiony, the tyres noise is minimal almost fully silent, the braking is very effective too.
Overall I am happy with the upsizing with P3ST, will fully recommend it 👍

I have a 2011 City S MT run 30k kms on stock steel wheels. It was running on stock Goodyears- 175/65/15 till about 10 days back.
One of the front tires burst and the other front tire developed some 3-4 punctures. My dad swapped the front tires for JK's. He didn't cross check or verify the tire size. Today, We realised the front tires are 185/60/15 while the rear are stock size.
Is 185/60/15 even a correct upsize? What should we do ideally?

1) Wait for the rear set to wear out a bit more, and put 185's in the rear too.

2) Swap out the front JK's to stock size.

Is it okay to run the car as is, or does it need immediate attention? How urgent is it? My dad is all set to go fight with the tire dude.

We wish to retain the stock steel wheels. I am suggesting my dad to upgrade all 4 to 195/60/15 for added ride height or stick to stock size all around.

Please advise

185/60-15 is not a correct upsize but not tragic either.

It reduces the GC and the ride comfort.

Remove the JKs and put 175/65-15 or 195/60-15 as many people have done. But if it's steel wheels, dont upgrade to 195/60-15. Stick to 175/65-15.

1) I would advise getting rid of the JKs you've got.

2) I would not revert to the stock size, considering Ground Clearance Issues with the Honda.

3) In my opinion you should do something immediately.

4) I would suggest getting 195/65R15 on the stock steel wheels. A friend of mine has been using this size for over 4 years without any issues.

I have been running yokohoma ES100 195/60 R15 on my 2010 honda city ivtec since three years.It has done close 37k kms since then and the tyres are totally worn out now.I totally loved these tyres for initial 15-16k kms for the amazing grip they have provided, but after that the road noise started increasing and with comfort levels going down.The grip,braking..etc were also fine though and no tyre bursts inspite of frequent driving on not so good roads.

Now I want to stick to the same size i.e 195/60 R15 with requirements/priorities in the following order :

1. Comfortable ride
2. low noise
3. grip
4. side wall strength(had bad experiences with S-drives on my i20, but at the same time had no issues with xm2 on innova which frequents pot-hole filled state high ways)
5. Life (since city has done just 57k kms in last 4.5 years, its not an issue)

The options i could see now are Michelin 3ST(good reviews on forum), michelin xm2, Pirelli P6 and Yokohama AVS dB.

Would like to hear comparison between the above tyres from user

Considering your priorities, Michelin Primacy 3ST would be perfect. Reviews for Pirelli's aren't good and doesn't match your requirements. Yoko AVS is difficult to obtain since imports stopped long back. So even if you manage your hands on a set, chances are they'll be almost a year old.
A month back I was in the same boat, trying to decide between the 3ST and AVS. AVS was nov 2013 manufactured so I decided to go with the 3STs. And I'm absolutely satisfied with them.

Looks like michelin 3ST is definitely the best option for me, dint hear anyone complaining about them too.

Anything from bridgestone?

The dealer whom i go to regularly(Ashoka tyres,hyderabad) always try to push Hanhook tyres and also claims that they are better than michelin and have replacement warranty(in case of tyre burst he will buy the tyre back at 50% price irrespective of no of kms or age).Couldnt find any reviews on them here.

Bridgestones are far more durable. They will last you longer but the comfort and noise part is just average.

About Hankook I am not sure. Check out the reviews online. I personally wouldn't go blindly with what the dealer suggest. Do some background study and then take a call.

Finally changed the tyres on my honda city to Michelin primacy 3st after seeing positive response from almost everyone who are using them and my good experience with michelin Xm2 on Innova.

I am totally satisfied with the tyres and there is a world of difference right after the tyre change(the ES100's became too noisy in the last 10k kms).The tyres are super silent and its as if I am driving a totally different and new car
Apart from the silence, I feel that the car is moving from stand-still without any reluctance/friction(compared to the old tyres) and the steering became noticeably light.The ride quality is very plush and comfortable now.However didn't get chance to check and handling, will be able to comment after decent number of miles.

If there is something i don't like in the 3ST, it has to be the shape of side-wall.I would have loved if its flat one like my previous yokohama, but it is rounded(I don't know the exact logic behind this).

Anyways I am totally satisfied with the purchase as of now and hope these tyres don't disappoint me

I want to change the tires of my ANHC now as they are aged now. Almost five years old but driven only 25k KM. the size will be 195/60 R15 on stock rims.
I am confused between Michelin primacy 3st and Continental MC5, both are good for noise reduction and grip. So please help me to choose from.

Hiren i just upgraded my honda jazz tyres from michelin XM1 to continental max mc5 a month back.
Have used them for about 1500kms now and i can vouch for the high speed grip and noiseless drive.

I want you to consider 195/60 R 15 option for a Honda city IVTEC. Also you can opt for Michelin brand tyre. I guess you wrote 205/55 R 16 instead of R15. Thanks

I wrote 205/55/16 (sixteen), because 205/55/15 will reduce ride height, right ??
