Want 15" Tyres for Honda City ZX VTEC

Hey guys.

I am using a Honda City ZX VTEC with 14 Inch Tyres.
However I feel that the braking and grip is a bit low.

Have to press the brake harder than normal to bring the car to a halt.

Should I upgrade to 15".
Will they improve grip and braking.

I am not much intersted about the speed part of them because i do not do high speeds.

If the Grip and Braking does increase , What tyres should i go in for.
Are Yokohomas good.
Also what tyre profile?

Budget is around 18k ( Set of 4 )

I dont think U can upgrade to 15" at 15K, coz u need to change the rims as well, i've run 16" in my NHC with 205 tires, and the handling has greatly improved over stock, but the ride is really hard!! Check out my gallery for pix!

Rim budget is seperate JayD.
What about the braking and grip.
Does it increase with increased rim size.

I dont think braking and tire Diameter are related, but width of the tire certainly matters, when u upsize, make sure that u get the right upsize to avoid speedo error and possible brake problems.

Check out this link for getting the correct upsize

While upgrading to better rubber will certainly improve the handling and braking, I doubt if it will improve the effort required for braking (ie. making the brake pedals any more soft/responsive).

Your brake pads could have got glazed which will require more efforts ont he pedal to stop the car. Check out your brake pads/disc first as that may solve the primary issue.

Rest of course, go for 15" as it improves handling and ride (not the low profiles ones).

Did you change to the OE pads? sometimes the after market or performance pads generate a lot of dust compared to the OE ones and might need frequent cleaning.

well if you do get performance tyres like s-drives or pp2s the braking will improve alot. i think 195/50 r15 will be the right size. even 55 profile should do.

Bothe 195/50 & 195/55 are fine Abhinav. Choose between the PP2's & the S-Drives. PP's will cost around 5.6k per tyre or there abouts whereas the S-Drive's should be around 4.5-5k.
