185/70 R14 is the best size for Ritz when you consider comfort, FE and city driving.

Has anybody tried fitting a 185/70 R14 in a stock steel rim which actually comes with 165/80? And is the steel rim that comes with vxi and alloys that come with zxi are same size ones?

It fits with no issues! I got it confirmed with dealer also. I am not sure about your second question, my guess is, it is same 14" wheels.

I have seen a Swift Diesel with CEAT 185/70 R14, i am sure it will much lesser than XM1+. People who have low budget can consider that.

I have a Ritz ZXi and the supplied 185/70/14s are pretty good. The only thing I did was change them from the stock JK tyres to Michelin XM1+. Those should work well for you too. Consider upgrading to alloy wheels though.

I saw a Ritz Yesterday in the showroom. It was an LDi with 195/55 R15 Yokohama S-Drives with Lenso alloys. Also, the dealer had painted the disc and drums on all wheels blue. Looks really HOT. Didn't take any photos. Will take this weekend when i visit the BTW, it was 6.65 OTR. Silver Ritz LDi.

195/55 R15 is the wrong size. 205/55 R15 is the correct size.

ummm Nikhil - sorry to parade my ignorance but can you tell a novice how one decides whats the correct size for upsizing and what isn't?

For eg: why is 195/55 R15 wrong and 205/55 R15 right?

It comes down to the overall circumference of the tyre.

195/55 R15 will have a smaller rolling circumference than 205/55 R15. 185/70 R14 will have a larger rolling circumference than 195/55 R15. I keep that as a standard.

The 195s i saw on the Ritz were looking extremely huge. I think it was very close to the inner part of the wheel well. So if 205 is used, that would scrap the inner wall. And also, with 205s, the Ritz would look like a Monster Truck!

Naveen, totally untrue. Maybe oyu saw 205/55 R15 only?

195/55 R15 would look smaller overall(when viewed from the side profile) than the stock 185/70 R!4.

Hey Nikhil, i am pretty sure i saw 195s on that Ritz. From the front, it looked too big.
Me and my friend were there together and we were discussing with the sales guy that these tyres look too big for Ritz. And also whether it will scrap the inner walls of the wheel well.
I will take a picture when i go there again. That will give everyone a better picture, literally

I was able to take few pics of the Ritz LDi with Yokohama S-drives running on 195/55 R15. I have uploaded the photos below. It was taken from my mobile so apologies if its not very clear. Also, the car was positioned at the corner of the showroom. So i was not able to capture front portion. I have taken mostly the side and the back profile since i was in a hurry. Enjoy!!

Very well looks like a dealer-specific Limited Edition model. And wrong tyre size to boot!

6.65 OTR for an LDi is sacrilege!
