I had a look at Sandeep's alloys at yesterday's meet. They look really rich, the Sai Alloy wheels are really great. I think he got them shipped directly. Check with him for further details.

Rubbers are same, it will last another 10k. Will upgrade later, once it becomes must.

I got a small problem here.

a friend(A) of mine has a GP, and he wanted to make some changes in the music system. I suggested him to go to a friend(B) who does all this + also has car accessories. There A decided to put in some alloys in his car and B was more than happy to do that. B wasn't aware that a GP needs 98 PCD, and instead installed the alloys of 100 PCD. 2 days there was absolutely no problems, but then the vehicle started wobbling BIG time. Alloys were removed and problem was diagnosed. B re-machined the hub and put in the original tyres + disc. After a day the car started wobbling yet again. Then B decided to change the hub at his expense and return the car. for the entire day there was no problem in A's car, but in the evening the car started showing ABS error.

I want to know a few things here.

1. After changing the hub, and using the car for almost an entire day, why should the ABS warning light, light up in the evening? and how can this be rectified?
2. what is the solution for this peculiar problem

Posting this on behalf of my friend. Please help.

"I am planning to upsize my stock tyres which is of 14" (GP MJD Emotion 14") to 15" as I got new Punto OE alloys from a tyre dealer.Please suggest me if I go in for 205/55/R15 which brand should I buy.My tyre dealer told me that Yokohama 205/55/r15 is very good as doesnt have tyre noise.My place is full of pot holes and uneven roads.Kindly
advice. Also if any one has upsized please suggest how is the road handling &
the steering toughness for 205/55/R15.I am also planning to install petes tuning box.I dont know if any one has peted the Grande Punto.Price quoted by the Petes cochin dealer is Rs2800/- Plus Rs4000/- for Green Air filter. "

Your friend should go for 195/60-R15, as the area he lives in has a lot of potholes and uneven roads.

55 profile would make life tough for him. Ride would bumpy and harsh and would be worse on bad roads.

Price quoted for PETEs seems about right.

petes is 28k i think. i too would recommned 195/60 R15

Thanks. He is thinking of S drives in 195/60R15. What say? He is looking at decent ride comfort, lower road noise and good looks. Would the S drives be good in that perspective or should he be looking at other models too? Any suggestions.

There are no S Drives in 195/60 R15. Ypur best bet is the Conti CPC2 or the Primacy LC. But I wont recommend the Primacy LC for broken roads. It's quite soft.

In Yoko, you get the C drives and the V550.

I dont think you S-Drives come in that profile.
You will find 195/55-R15 in S-Drives.

S-Drives provide excellent grip and are performance tyres, but they are noisy when compared to A-Drives or Michelins. And further more, 55 or 50 profile is not suited for the roads your friend frequents on.

I found the perfect balance of comfort, performance, decent price and low noise in Continental CPC2.

Otherwise Michelin are very tyres if you have the budget.

EDIT. Nikhil just posted it before me. BTW, Nikhil, did CPC2's see a rise in price in past few days? I got mine for 4100, a friend of mine was quoted 4600 couple of days ago from the same dealer.

Yes. Prices have gone up 6-7%.

July 1st will see Michelin tyre prices go up between 1%-9%

What about the C drives? are they available here and how much do they cost.

And is xm1+ available in that size?

C Drives are available. That is why I mentioned them here

Should cost around the Contis. Somewhere around 4.5k or so.... XM1+ is not available.
