Oversize tyres for my petra

Its time for thierd set of typres for my petra after 82K kms.

Recently most roads in Karnataka have deteriorated so much that underbody scaping has become order of the day.

Keeping this in mind I have been thinking of going for 195/65 R14 against present 175/65 R14.

With this I expect to get additional 14mm GC more, a smoother ride.

On the flip side, I get 4% speedo error, slightly low handling...

Now I need advie on 2 counts...
1. can some one help qualntify the loss of handling? How bad do you think is the compromise? After 80K + I do not plan to use this car aggressively.

2. does any one enlighten me about any issues that mey crop up in the wheelwell

any other issues I might have misssed out

Experts please help out

Regards

Just see if the car jerks more over uneven surfaces more, when you install 195s. I read a post in PUG recently, from a member who installed 195s in his S10 and reported more cabin jerks.

BTW, I recently upsized from 165s to 185, Michellin XM1. The tyre noise reduced, less rolling resistance, and ride is much better compared to the crappy GPS which I had earlier.

Two possible issues...

1) The tyres *might* touch the chassis while in full lock.

2) With full load, the top of the tyres might scrape the wheelwells

Why not 185/65 R14? That will give you some extra rubber between the car and the road.

Is it 88K with the first set of tires? If yes, which are those tires??

Can't agree more! We are developing deep and high

I did go through the bible though, but my question was more specific to find if any palio/petra/sienna owners have gotten creative with tyres and match my intentions.
