hey people :)

Im getting a good deal on a set of Pirelli P-ZERO NERO. Any reviews ? in terms of road noise , strenght and grip, when compared with Yokohama S-drives, hankook RS2s!

Arent the P-Zeros supposed to be legendary tires. The Murcealago comes with those. And so does the 500 Abarth!! So They should be brilliant!!

P-Zeros is a very general name for a range of Pirelli tyres. The ones which come on the Ferraris, Lambos, etc are P-Zero Rosso or the P-Zero Corsa tyres. The Nero seem to be the low end tyre.

However, I think they should be good. Only problem is that since the tyre is not supported by Pirelli in India officially, buyer sghould be extremely careful.

I have used a set of Pirelli P6000 in my Ikon. P6000 doesnt come in the High Performance product line of Pirelli. But, they are excellent tires. The tires are soft and the sidewalls are strong enough to hold good in our indian conditions. The grip is lethal and driving around with Pirelli shoes is fun. I have clocked over 40K KMs when I sold my car and I had only 2 punctures through its life and no other issues.

The only thing is to make sure you are not getting some old stock thrown in for you!

What size was this ? And what is the quoted price ?

Nikhil,
Pirellis sell only OEM tyres in India ?

Well, actually it seems Pirelli do have some sort of liason office in India. I guess they will take care of after sales support.

Nero's are also quite good, thats what i have read. But how and where are you getting them from?

205/45/17 is the size, Getting it from a reputed tyre dealer in delhi. I'm gonna check the manufacturing date and get back.

Bump : The tyres are actually 205/40/17 ... and 2008 manufactured. The dealer is selling it at this cost because he has them in stock and its a slow moving size!

SO now will buying a 2008 manufactured tyre be a nice decision?

2008 is ok. But which week? If it is after 40th week(4008), then it should be ok.

Even otherwise, it should be ok. The age is seriously overhyped I feel.

Most of the performance tyres wear out the tread looooong before age of the tyre even begins to play a role in the performance.
