I second Dhanushs view, please let us know the colour of your ride. Moreover, you shall get better designs in other brands apart from the ones pictured here.

Is the Momo a genuine one?

I doubt that, Don't think MOMO makes 13" wheels anymore.

Changed tires of my santro from crappy MRF ZVTS 155/70/R13 to Mcihelin 155/70/R13 and initial impression is wow. I can feel the differences
1. The ride quality and handling is improved drastically.
2. High speed stability is increased. On old MRF tires the car seemed to be flying off the ground at 80km/hr.

The total cost was Rs. 12000/- which includes Rs. 2925/- per tyre and Rs. 300/- for balancing, alignment, wieghts, valves, nitrogen filling for 3 months.

Work was done at ashirwad tires dadar(near chitra cinema).

Hello Folks,

Need tyre upgrade suggestions

Details: Santro Xing Xo, 2007 Model, done 45k
Planning to go for alloys and tubeless, Please suggest which one to go for and if possible Hyd dealer's address.

165/65 R13 is this best upsize to go for If I don't wan't to compromise on FFE, noise no issues as my music always on.

@romyeo4u- Regarding alloys you should be the one deciding as you are going to be using and seeing the car more than anyone else.

Coming to tires, the best upsize would be 175/60 R13 Yokohama A539's. Have been using these for the past 2 yrs and have done close to 40k kms on these. Amazing grip, low noise level and a unique thread pattern. In my opinion one of the best tires in 13'.

Good choice, and have fun in your new shoes. I don't want to rain on your parade, but I got Michelin XM1+ 165/65/R13 shoes on my friend's Santro for 2700/piece from New Delhi, about a month ago. 155/70 is even cheaper, I guess. The offer didn't include free cell phone and tires were from new stock (May/June 2010 manufacturing date). I really hope that you got free cell phone at that price along with the tires (which was being offered by Michelin as recently as 2-3 weeks ago).

3150/- is pretty much ok. Michelin is substantially higher in this size than the other tyres anyway.

Appollo Alloy wheel & tyres for Santro

This post was long overdue. Some two months back I had posted a query on upgrading tyres for my 6 year old Santro and I got response from tyre gurus. I decided to upsize the tyre to 165/65/r13

I chanced to visit the newly opened Apollo showroom in thiruvananthapuram and it resulted in an immediate purchase of Alloys and Accelere tyres. It was a decision made by heart.

Upgrading wheels/tyres on Santro-dsc03614santro1.jpg

Immediate changes felt

Pros
1. Car felt more solid
2. High speed cornering manners increased leaps and bounds
3. I love the looks and got a feeling that itz a brand new car
4. Small uneveness of the road is not at all felt.

Cons
1. Loss of power is evident during pick up
2. A heavy thud is the response to big potholes

Alloys: 3250 x 4 = 13000
Tyres: 3100 x 4 = 12400
Wheel nuts were charged extra. Balancing and alignment was done free.

Don't know how accelere will fair in the long run. The attitude of the tyre shop guys were quite good. Infact they replaced one of the alloys within 2 weeks since I found a small bend on one of them possible caused by the tool used to put the tyres in.

Once again thanking all the contributors to the thread. I will post my experiences with accelere as I munch more miles.

Hi Tyre Gurus,

I have been running on stock tyres/rims on my Santro for quite a long time and I think the time has come to buy some new rubber+alloys coz I can see some amount of wear and tear. The stock tyres are Bridgestone S322 155/70R13. I have these options for tyres:

1. Upgrade to 165/65R13 five tubeless tyres and obviously I would also have to change the stepney since in case of puncture I cant run with 3 165's and one 155 so price increase of one tyre. Am I correct? (increase of one tyre price)

2. Get four new 155/70R13s tubeless and keep the current tubed S322 155/70 as stepney on steel rim. Is it advisable to run tubeless+tubed in case of puncture? (saving of one tyre price)

3. Get five new 155/70R13 tubeless tyres and four alloys+keep existing steel stepney.

Any idea what is the stock rim size for santro - is it 4J or 4.5J?
I think the alloys are going to be 5J min or do you get 4.5J also?

What would be my best option?

I am planning on getting Michelins and Neowheels alloys.
Any places in Mumbai where I can get a good deal?

Also what about 175/70R13 ? What would be the impact?
