Guys

I wanted to know what the best possible tyre upgrade would be considering the following

1. The need for better handling & heavier steering feel
2. The area that I drive in is plagued with bad roads, pot holes & even random nails
3. Same or better ground clearance.

I'm considering 15" 195/55. Is this a wise choice? Given the points above, what brand is the best(non soft compound)?

Thanks in advance

Zahir - did you get this setup done? I am going to get a CRDi Asta next month and thinking of going to 15" to get better ground clearance. Does this profile enhance ground clearance?

Can anyone suggest a good pair of shoes for the i20 that will enhance ground clearnace while not compromising on the FE.

Hey Jason. No I didn't. The sa categorically told me that though I could, I would lose warranty on the suspension because the 15" ones would be pretty hard on the suspension. Since I took the extended warranty, I didn't want to bother.

Stuck to 14", which doesn't look bad but upgraded the tyres to Michellin xm2 185/65

Thanks for the info Zahir - I didn't realize suspension warranty will get hit. Do you have any scrapping issues with 5 on board? I am concerned with the ground clearance given Bangalore's roads.

No scraping issues because I'm on the stock size but yes, go slow over tall breakers & bad roads.

Re: 17" Alloys and tyres for i20

Hi All,

My i20 Asta has clocked 45k+ in 4 years and i am looking to replace tyres. Service Adviser has given me quote of 5750 per tyre (Apollo Stock one); Please advice me further other brand in same range.

Thanks & Cheers
