Suspension + Brakes + ECM [all are O/S] !
Congrats. Looks neat.

Does the added cost of all of the above put together exceed the cost of the base car ?

Thanks for the compliments;

However, I see that you have a Vento.
That too can be done up.
Spend some time and a little bit of money & do it, the way you like.
It is a great fun project & the outcome will be your own to love & cherish !
Just my 2 cents worth.
All the Best !

Yea we just got that in feb as a 3rd car, my mom mainly uses it so i cant really mod it. i have done some nice ice and i will probably get some wheels for it later. but dude seriously polo>vento any day.

Hey i forgot to ask you, what is the offset on the wheels. it sits perfect with the fenders giving it a nice aggressive look.

Are you planning to paint the rims white? Would look good, IMO.

Re: VW Polo 1.6 Petrol - 17" Alloys - 5 hole 100 PCD - Sparco Pista X 8J

You said it Bhagwan. I m actually afraid to drive the car out the dealership out of fear that i might "Void the warranty".

You seem to have misunderstood me, what i was saying was that according to the VW dealer in Thane, the stock alloys along with the tyres costs 105k. which i find hard to believe. But then again the entire staff generally seemed lost.

I do not have any 'access' to the polo cup rims. I am on the lookout for them and would willing part with my left ball for those bad boys!!

The rims you have installed do look the part though i must say... i like the way they fill out the wheel arches.

However, like i said i have decided to keep the stock alloys & go for some wider stickier rubber i had the Michelin pilot potenza 205/60R15 in mind.
Any suggestions?

By the way i am assuming you have sold the stock alloys & rims.. how much did you get for them?

The 'stock' rims are listed @ Rs. 18750/- a piece + Tyre [Apollo Accelor]
So Rs. 105/- K for the stock may be correct..

Yes, I sold the Alloys in Hyderabad @ Rs. 19/- K
Tyres were sold in Mumbai for Rs. 18/- K
Total = Rs. 37/-
BTW My Tyres were 205.55.15 from Yokohama S Drive.

Please let us know from where you purchased the Sparco rims that are currently in your car?

No Sir !

I will keep them 'stock'

I did paint the OZ Rims of mine on the VRS - Skoda & they never 'lasted'
Even though Mazda did the job for me;
So, I will keep this.
I like the ENkei 'Gold' Colour....
Just to mention it.

Wheels are hot. I would suggest
  • Paint the drums black, not red
  • body colour on the mud flaps
  • replace sparco branded hubcaps with VW
  • Car appears to be sitting high? hows the speedo error
  • I would suggest skirting to mitigate that effect

Yes;
I will do it on Monday / Tuesday - White is the colour I have chosen..

I was keen, but 4S Auto - Where I installed these R & T from, was 'against' it !

No idea, I do not know how to measure Speedo Error !

This is a good suggestion;
I will consider.

I do not understand this - please do shed some light...

The Polo looks great with the 17 inchers. How is the ride and performance after the upgrade?

Everytime i see a Polo I want to buy it. I love the design. But then I look at the back seat and I start jogging away - then I think about the dealers and I run for my life - they think that they are doing you some great favor by offering you the chance to buy a Polo in India!!

Looking fwd to your experience after the suspension upgrade.
Drive on,
Shibu.

Theres a video of the polocup car reviewed by a guy from overdrive on youtube , he mentions that they have eibach springs , though i cannot remember what dampers they use. They definitely don't use adjustable coilovers!
