Ford Fusion (2006 - 2015) Foray into the world of 4 wheels

The Fusion was well ahead of its time. It was a cross-over in every sense, the clearance, the space. The cross-over bug has only caught on in recent times, but I've always been big on this body type, maybe cause I'm extremely rational. I miss the estate/stationwagons that used to ply our roads in the mid 2000's. The 9 long years that the Fusion was with us, it served us incredibly well. I still remember the first time I walked into the Ford Dealership back in 06, I was looking at the Fiesta. When I stepped into the Fusion, I was absolutely blown away and that was that. 9 years of pure bliss followed. It was a true drivers car with that silky smooth 1.6 petrol under the bonnet and a hydraulic steering unit. Even though the Fusion was basically a Euro Fiesta (a.k.a Ford Figo) on stilts, it handled beautifully. Ford had setup the ride spot on as well. I really miss that setup as manufacturers are shying away these days from hydraulic steering units altogether. The Fusion truly was a gem of a car and I thoroughly miss it.
