Re: Vintage & Classic Car Parade with F1 Drivers

Thank you Mr. Jatti for a preview of the cars at F1 event , HMCI has always taken the lead in showcasing it's members cars - other car clubs across the country should think of emulating the HMCI example.

The Austin Healey 100/6, 1955 is there and will be participating in the parade on the 30th, driven by Ms.Shefali Prakash.

Re: Vintage & Classic Car Parade with F1 Drivers

Waited eagerly to see the Vintage & Classic cars at the FI today. Star sports continued their insipid chat & these cars were not shown.I am sure many like me would have been dissappointed

As Rightly mentioned by Wasif the Lagonda is a car that attends almost all the Delhi events. The car seems to have got a new registration number though. Earlier it had a RJF number. It is owned by a very senior gentleman in the old car scene in Delhi and a Gentleman from Calcutta who is known to own the best imported cars in Calcutta and is the same person who was driving the car in the event.

Any details on The Jaugar Mark V Cabriolet ?

Re: Vintage & Classic Car Parade with F1 Drivers

Nice pics of all the cars ..It would have been nice and kind of appropriate to have some of Vijay Mallya's cars also in teh parade as his team has put India on the F1 map.

Re: Vintage & Classic Car Parade with F1 Drivers

These cars surely made the day special. Immaculate, beautiful, pristine are some of the adjectives that come to mind.

A friends Sunbeam Alpine was also part of the parade....

Brilliant thread.

cheers

In the final run Alonso was driven around in the Lagonada M45 as opposed to the listed 1930 Studebaker. Did the driver asked for a change of car?

Re: Vintage & Classic Car Parade with F1 Drivers

One thing I did not personally appreciate, was that the drivers were being "driven"....most of the ladies & gentlemen "driving" the F1 guys can actually buy a team for recreation...not profit.

The drivers of the F1 should have sat in the front or stood in the front

Is it just me or is that something nobody even noticed ?

There were some last minute changes and I have some photographs of the cars with the driver's names on the cars, which I am uploading. This was just a few minutes before the cars went to the track.
