Vintage cars in Chhattisgarh.

Posting few cars from my home town Bhilai, all cars belongs to one guy who works in Bhilai Steel Plant and heard that his sons are also helping him in restoring, running these cars. Not very tastefully done up but managing so many vintage cars in that kind of place is not so easy job. He makes spare parts as well to keep them running.
Hope we have many members from Chhattisgarh and can contribute some more classics.
Dont ask me make and year of these beauties, just clicked pics when i went on evening walk, i am not into cars but love old classics.

This is great, though all the beauties are of Post war section except for the morris 8, I have seen this car in much better condition couple of years ago.

Most of the cars have extra fittings / non original stuff on the exterior. But glad to know that they are running.

The first car is Hindustan 14 (black) , the second one is Morris 8 (red color), the third is Morris minor low light(orange color). Fourth is Morris Minor (yellow color). Fifth is probably 1939-47 Austin 8 Saloon.

All in all, nice to see cars from my home town. I will tell you more place to look for more pristine and original cars.

The fifth picture is of a Hindustan 10 from the late 1940's. It was the first car ever made by HM and was succeeded by the Hindustan 14.Here is a thread dedicated to this car which is incidentally the first car made (assembled rather) in India.

Re: Vintage cars in Chhattisgarh.

Dr. Anjan,

Thanks for correction. Hindustan - Morris - Austin sure rings a bell. No wonder I see similarity in the cars profile / silhouette.

Hindustan 10 is indeed a rare car now a days.

Re: Vintage cars in Chhattisgarh.

Thanks for your sharing nice pictures, yes white and maroon car is Hindustan-48 (Morris 10M), very nice car we used to have one. Red Morris-8 E open tourer headlights were not original and have extra fittings.

Please post more pictures if you have.

Cheers!

In 1954 the black Hindustan 14 was involved in an accident with a truck - must have been almost new at the time.
