Re: KVCCC Rally- 29th April'12 at Taj West End

This beautiful 1949 Buick has been a one family car. The grandson of the original owner owns this car now.

This 1953 Dodge sedan has been with one family since 1957. Coincidentally this car also belongs to the grandson on the original owner

This 1947 Daimler DB18 is owned by the club president. Making an appearance after a long time. The DE27 did not make it this time

Ah so glad to see Heralds being part of more and more rallies now!

This one seems to have been restored recently...looks all-original. Pity about the dash guages though. Curiously my car (which was also in Bangalore for a while and was done up there as well) too was fitted with the same set of Amby guages! Thankfully I had the original guages to get rid of these!
We do have one fellow team bhpian there who might be able to help with the original speedo though, if at all the owner is interested!

Anyways, all in all, a superb turnout! I was just wowing all the pics. of these rides! 'wish Hyd. too had more frequent rallies/shows like this.

When did this happen? I was under the impression that the Zaveri Graham was still in Delhi!

The standard herald used to belong to a family friend of ours who had an immaculate dodge Kingsway and his wife used to drive this. He was fastidious in maintaining these. He sold both cars later on. Was glad to see the Herald still in good shape

Re: KVCCC Rally- 29th April'12 at Taj West End

Great pics Ajamat, thanks for them. The way most of the cars seem to be maintained in these photos seems quite good.

KPS, the Plymouth is looking great and now with the trunk installed even better.

The Willys Knight may have been leaking oil, but Knight Sleeve valve engines (I'm sure a number of us know this), though very silent consumed a lot of engine oil, which was a trait of these engines. Because of this, these cars would leave a trail of blue smoke from the exhaust as they progress.

Is the '49 Buick missing somethings at the rear? Reversing lamps maybe? Can't quite pin point it.

Must say the Wolseley looks very stylish.

There were no cars from the Khodays stable. Advaith had only 2 cars, the 31 Ford A and 56 Jaguar. Doc had about 13 cars out of the 57 which came.

Re: KVCCC Rally- 29th April'12 at Taj West End

KPS, Ajmat & others, thanks for posting nice pictures and sharing with us, even the back ground setting make the pictures more interesting. KPS's Plymouth looks splendid and other interesting cars, some of the classics, made first appearance. Still few cars missing, Tonrag's MG and others cars.

Thanks to all.

Re: KVCCC Rally- 29th April'12 at Taj West End

Nice report and pictures !

As far as i know, the Khodays do not send their vehicles for any vintage shows, please correct if my understanding is wrong. They have some really beautiful American beauties and a recently well restored Ponton too !

Glad to see the black 46 MGTC is running well and is attending shows regularly. A lot of effort had gone into its restoration.

Pavan kadam - Agree with you, the writers need to have a crash course in automobile history. Totally unnecessary.

KVCCC Rally- 29th April'12 at Taj West End - "International" Coverage

Hi Guys,

Great outing and great effort by the O Team.

You guys have international covergae - did you know that ?

See the attached scan of todays Gulf News the largest selling English daily in the Gulf. Since its Dubai based, we can call this coverage "international" isn't it

And it shows one car at least, which as far as I can see, none of the TBHPians present managed to 'shoot' (may be I missed)

All in all a good show

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe
