Cheers to an event that will fire up enthusiasm in south India. In the past many cars from there have been sold out of the state, there used to be Rolls-Royces in Chennai.

Cheers harit
Yes. The MHMC is very active with a member base increasing, especially in regard to two wheelers as a two wheeler membership category has also been introduced. The events are well organised, which includes this rally sponsored by MY TVS. The drive to Pondy with an overnight stay is also an annual feature , besides smaller events like display in Auto related exhibitions etc.

Chennai, has certainly lost many good cars which were sold out of state including Rolls Royces, one of which, understand is with the Mallaya collection.

Re: TVS Heritage rally - Chennai

The Don Bosco Rally each year has become boring, to say the least. Its the same old cars. That Buick, never came in a four door convertible to start with, that is a chop job, and a real bad one, done by a well known restorer in Delhi. That Ford Custom has been nicely restored at least in the fotos.

Re: TVS Heritage rally - Chennai

The Hindu group of newspapers used to be associated with the Madras rallies. Do they still lend their support? Interestingly, Calcutta, Delhi and earlier Bombay saw the Statesman associating with them. Bombay then switched over to the Indian Express, The Hitvada in Nagpur. Print media seems to have a soft spot for vintage beauties. The owners of the Hindu, Statesman and the Indian Express themselves had interesting cars. With new media emerging, will we in future see new sponsors? TV channels and the like??

Re: TVS Heritage rally - Chennai

I understand that this Ford Custom came from Amravathi and originally belonged to the immediate past president's family? Can anyone confirm is this is true?

This car has been beautifully restored in Bangalore. I love the paint job.
