Not quite correct, the engine moved from beneath the drivers seat to the rear, and a RE monogram was attached for that

They have added the reverse gear too ! Older ones had to be pushed manually to reverse.

I thought they have reverse gear in the FE auto rickshaws too, there was a lever to actuate the rever gear arrangement, and then you had all the 4 gears while going reverse .

Okay in April of 1988 VCCCI had a Vintage car rally. Car's came to bandra St. Stanislaus School ground. Here are some pics. Karl helped me with the models and the names of the owners. Thanks Karl, and yep that's the number to the AJS Farad was riding. My lil neighbour I mentioned earlier has grown up enough to carry a list of cars and go through it....

I have not seen the BLB registered Model A Ford before. Wonder where it is today, looks nice the pics. The similar PNF car we know today as Babloo's car, though mentioned here are Bagri. Also not seen the MRF registered Chevy before, though Harit remembers it well. And does that Dodge survive in Bombay?

The Lancia I assume is Mallya's car, today BLD registered. Or can someone correct me? Any pictures of the green Beetle convertible seen the back?

This 1932 Dodge is so very similar to my 1932 Plymouth as can been seen in the pictures below

1. Free standing headlights
2. Mudguards
3. Bumper
4. Windshield
5. Front cowl has dual air intakes. Though the bonnet design is different as in the Plymouth it is one piece with the intakes incorporated in the same
6. Door Patterns
7. Spokes wheels
8. Roof design including top material


Major difference would be that the engine in the Dodge is a 6 cylinder whilst in my Plymouth is the last of the 4 cylinders

Karl, I'll try and find out who was driving the BLB ford. I think Babloo may have bought PNF 75 later? He also has another one right? I can try a fresh scan with the beetle and the other car. Can you please list the details of the cars in the first pic and the fifth pic.


KPS have really no idea where the dodge is now. Maybe Harit will tell. Wish I had the list of cars at the rally. I feel I may have missed out on a lot of photos.

Yes, he has another yellow one, MHR registered. Both are regularly used, I see them often on the road.

• The first picture shows 2 Bhogilal Rolls Royces, and his Bentley 8 litre.
• The second shows his Packard and Rolls (Travancore?)
• The third shows the Jasdanwalla Wolseley and a Padmini, that may shortly start attending rallies as participants too
• The fourth shows Jasdanwallas Mercedes 170V roadster, now dark green. I see it often on the roads in Pune
• The fifth shows a Model A Ford I think, but seems to have later Chevy wheels? I think another picture of this car was seen in Faster's thread
• The sixth picture shows an Austin, Ford (V8?), Ford Prefect, Singer roadster
• The seventh picture shows Baroda/Jamshedjee Rolls, Model A Ford of Solanki, later red and black
• The last picture shows an Austin sedan, Tariq Gore's Daimler and Austin
