Really like this car. This must be a 1931-32 Chrysler?

There have been several driving schools with dual control cars, I have seen a Ford Model T, Vauxhall Victor 1958, and a Beetle with this arrangement. Steering, brakes, maybe clutch were fitted to both sides, accelerator only for the learner. Probably all were local conversions.
The T survives, Victor probably scrapped, on the fate of the Beetle I have no clue.

Cheers harit

Fascinating! Would you happen to know what kind of drive mechanism existed between the two columns. I have heard that some early cars had a cumbersome chain drive!
Any pics in your archive, by any chance?!

My 1948 Hillman Minx was a driving school car and it seems to have been locally outfitted with dual brake and clutch pedals. No dual steering.

Possibly off topic to this thread, but since you mentioned a dual control Beetle, here's a pic of a 55 Beetle (outside India) with an original Werner Degener dual control system (specifically made for a VW Beetle). Note the dual mirrors and the 10 and 2 o' clock positions marked on the learner steering wheel as a reminder!

Re: Pics: 21 Gun Salute Vintage Rally : Gurgaon

I remember seeing a few Beetles with dual controls a long time ago in Goa. As a kid, I used to wonder why these cars had 2 steering wheels - until I was told by my dad that these are used by the training schools.
