Sir, completely off topic, when I worked in Trivandrum circa 1989 - 90 , my colleague had a blue Mark II Ambassador that was supposedly owned by the Maharaja prior. Ring any bells?

Quite possible. The only Palace Ambassasdor that I can remember is this car. Believe it is a Mk II with updated Mk III features. Think they still have it.

This is still in the Kaudiar Palace. There was an aquamarine colour Mark2 with the Pattom palace KLV 2556 which was later owned by an advocate.

The year in which the ad's were published would be helpful.

Similar sized cars now cost 50 to 100 times the price!

At a cost of Rs. 10,500, the car promised 60 to 90 miles per charge.
