This article appeared on the 11th of August, 1950, talking about a 15% import duty reduction. Revised prices are listed for Hillman Minx, Austin, Vauxhall and Standard Vanguard.

In 1985 the Zundapp Enfield Explorer cost just under Rs. 8,100 in Goa. Dealers were Auto Guides.

In November 1927 Douglas motorcycles were advertised with prices starting at Rs. 780 for the Type EW Magneto Model, while the Electric Model was Rs. 875. A sidecar would cost Rs. 355 more.

The larger Type OC model cost Rs. 1,400, plus Rs. 425 for a sidecar.

Nice post. A small correction, Devanand Automobiles as shown in the images is in Gulbarga (now named Kalaburagi) which is my hometown and is in Karnataka, not Kerala.

I remember that the Luna Super cost ₹5,706 on road in 1988 in TN. We bought a Luna Double Plus the same year from CSD for ₹4,800. Registration and first year road tax was some ₹100 extra.

I remember that the Bajaj Super cost ₹18,352 and the Chetak ₹19,201 on road in Gujarat in 1993. By then LTT had kicked in.
