Guys, so my Sunbeam Rapier returned restored from Chennai a year+ ago.

However, in the few days that we ran it up in Coonoor, the Rear Axle differential shattered (I don't know why, it's solid and has run non stop since 1957). My mechanic here suspects it was misaligned when it was reassembled.

I am taking these two parts to Mumbai (see images) to see if there is someone where something like this can get fabricated. Also looking for original spares from the UK, but they're proving very costly. Will continue to look at both options. However, for now, could you advise on fabrication?

Has anyone fabricated parts of the drive shaft, gear box, assembly, axle before? What are your experiences? What should my checklist be?

Hi Sam,

It is possible to replicate to the same specification in Bangalore. Please check the following website www.bevelgearsindia.com to give you an idea. The added bonus is that the main promoter is a vintage car enthusiast owning a few cars and personally looking into their up keep.

I will PM you his contact details. (PM is now possible, as you have crossed 25 quotes)

Cheers
