I had always heard of a car of similar description at Dadar, at some point I think engine also had dissapeared. I wonder that was true and the same as this.

If it is being restored, thats fantastic.

EDIT - v12, that was probably kasli's article in BSMotoring. kasli is Speedy's brother.
No Karl the engine was very much there, though outside the car. i remember seeing this car for a long long time. I cant recall is after the year 1992. Can someone confirm. when they last saw the car.

In Madras ? ! Please let me know more details if you have any, as I am from Madras and just curious to know how a car in that state could have been restored.

Arrey Cyrus that large nose of yours is affecting your thinking also. 11 44pm means night time, this must be 11 44 am

I offered this car in 1995. and went and saw it, exactly where the snap was taken!! on the Mahim side of Shivaji park, close to Pai's electrician.
In my opinion it was unrestorable[or rather not worth the efforts at That Time]

A very sorry 170V from Harit's archives.

Quote:
Another 170V Mercedes which was in distress. The wheels were cemented into the ground literally. This was on the farm in Thane where the Lagonda was also lying, picture in Lagonda thread. The engine was given to the turner at that time and never came back. Because there is an opening boot externally, this should be post war, although registration was BMW.

The Humber in the background is now owned by me and after dismantling and keeping idle for more than 15 years assembly of the engine has started.

Yup, she was. This one is a landaulette, with the rear portion opening, otherwise apparently identical to the scrap car.

Curiously, the car sports full disc wheels. I wonder if they are original.

I had seen this car around maybe 10 years ago or so. The engine was lying next to it, in a dismantled condition with all parts thrown around. The block had a tyre on it which was probably used as a make shift seat. This car got sold a few years ago and i believe that is being restored, just as the Mole has informed.

Standing next to this Opel is this Vauxhall. It was driven down from Bombay one Saturday morning in a September in the 80s, parked here, and never touched again. It was fully complete, but bit by bit things keep dissappearing (and no, not because Im taking things!)

No way! This one is still in one piece! But will most likely end up pretty soon like that one- that car has had it!
