shyn as kasli says, please verify about the Morris Minor. I am a little bit doubtful if they would scrap it as its body line and overall condition is quite OK.
Its a jackpot (price wise) and a little effort will make it roadworthy.
At least the high prices now a days prevent many of the old cars from getting scrapped.

What I meant to say was that this Morris was being restored but now they've stopped working on it because of a tight budget, so the owner left his 'half-restored Morris' in this open garage. So sooner or later it will end up looking like the old rusted Minor I posted earlier!

Spotted four vintages rusting in peace in an empty petrol bunk near Sahara Manzil! Attaching pics of two of those cars. Can someone tell me the exact models of these cars?!

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

These are lying at the Petrol Bunk after Sarovar Hotel/British Library on the Secretariat Road. Have seen them a number of times and they belonged to the owner of the Petrol Bunk, who has left for good after his Petrol Bunk closed down. These are lying at the place for a long time and are mostly used by the Vendor selling tea there to stock his belongings there. Pity to see these classics reaching such a stage. The whole of the area being a disputed property, there isin't much that could be done about these cars as the Owner isn't interested in these anymore.

Hi Shyn,

The first car seems like an Adler, Could the second car be a Standard or some other british car from the 40's? Pardon me if iam wrong.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

That Silver one is a mid 30's Adler. I suspect its been through some chop/repair job as the rear wind screen looks to have been tampered but not very sure. Maybe gurus could enlighten. My word, what sacrilege to let such cars rot this way.

This has been discussed in the past. The Adler Triumph Senior seems to have lost its bonnet. There used to be a VW Bug with this lot.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

sure a sad sight to see potential cars going underground slow and steadily, if the owners cannot maintain or restore why do they better not sell it at least they will not have their investment becoming scrap. I pity these cars. I believe the VW would have been a running car and due to this long time stand still has lost many goodies. I feel restoring this car could be as equal as buying two cars.

As KPS mentions, pics. of these cars have been posted here quite a few times before, including by yours truly (if only I'd known someone else would be posting pics. of these later...wouldnt have taken the trouble! )
The silver car is indeed an Adler Senior. The maroon car was also identified as a Standard by someone earlier although first time I saw one like this.

There also used to be a creamish Fiat 2100/1800 Familiare (stationwagon) sans the engine and front cosmetics sitting in a corner there.

The owner of the cars/pump was said be related to our DKG.

As Nikhil mentions, the whole property has been under dispute since ages, and the cars unfortunately happened to get stuck in it. Which means they are not going anywhere! Sad!
Incidentally, I remember the Beetle had its rear windscreen lying inside on the rear seat...!

@JayD- sad about the Stude too! Is it in Madras btw?

Oh no it's sad . I don't mind at least donating a tarpaulin to save them from hitting the ground to beyond a state of repairs

Yes, the very same! Except that, as kasli said, it's been burnt by someone or something!!

A sad end for a classic indeed! The whitewalls on the tyres still look good!

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

@Shyn

From when did you start capturing these rusting beauties? I guess and perhaps must be just 2 Sundays work. But anyways awesome pics, right from Mr Hadi (mechanic) workshop at Kali Khabar opp MG Bus Station to the other wokshops located at the Bazaar GHat ( infact this guy had two Mercs and both of them were LHDs) and his Neighbour had a W123 240 RHD MH registered and sold to a person from Vijay Nagar Colony and Finally landed at Aman Bhai's place. Then the Willys and the Golf ond other cars are lying there for more than 2 years. This Mechanic Guy also had a Montego Rover Station Wagon which he sold last year.
Lastly I cherish you capturing the Super Imports of Hyderabad rather than these ones.
