This seems to be a rare '59 Li series 1 Lambretta, going by the horncast mounted headlight! The handlebar seems to have been changed for that of a seires 2. Or it must be a series 2 with a series 1 horncast fitted.
Is this outside a mechanic shed?

Best way to tell us by opening the side panel and see whether it's a frame breather model. If so it's most likely a series 1

Its an unique combo of the frontal beauty of the two successive Li Series models.The ingenuity of the owner has to be appreciated. Even in their hey days, when hundreds of Lambrettas were seen on the streets, I do not remember having seen a single one with such a combo.

For the 21st century looks, it can be the Dio headlights and its fairings (because its not as simple as the good old Lambretta) fitted on an Activa.

There have been a few such Lambrettas, including one that participated in a VCCCI rally in Bombay a few years ago.

Standard Herald. Sad to see it in this condition with bird poop all over.

I am not sure if it is the same car that i saw several years ago in a mechanic's place in Kamanahalli. I was shocked by its size. Easily the size of an S-class Benz.

I think this mini is one of the few chopped clandestine imports from lanka, confiscated by customs in chennai

Went to BKC scrap yard on sunday. Couldnt locate this one, no one had any idea about it. Seems its picked up by someone. Good to know that atleast.

The MINI or so called Body shell of one is made from a maruti 800. The car was not to be scrapped and was to be worked upon to use. I met the scrap yard person and the owner of the vehicle when i had gone parts hunting..

Had posted a pic. of this Fiat Superselect before...car's gone all the worse now.
And the owners don't want to sell I was told long ago. Apparently its a kind of 'good luck charm' for them!
