Sorry but you are wrong on that count is what I intend to say. What does 'relatively good' imply in automotive terms? On what basis do you reach such a conclusion? Have you driven a Herald with the roof off for a substantial period of time? And btw, please do not offer a justification that a bolt-on roof= convertible. The original triumph Herald convertible- which never made it to India- had a different body construction with a reinforced chassis to prevent sagging of the body without a roof to support it from above and even the body had strengthening at the spot where the B -pillars would've been so it didn't flex and let the doors fly open at turns due to the same reason I mentioned. Which garage or even car owner in India could even think of such measures? And I have got this info from knowledgeable people in the UK who (unlike some of our self-proclaimed restorers on social media in our land) have actually owned, restored and driven original triumph Herald convertibles- some things cant be got only via Google uncle! Hence a reason for not advocating the practice of making Heralds 'topless' and instantly branding them hey Presto 'convertibles'!

Spotted in the Raghuvanshi Mills compound (just ahead of 'Address Home'). I'm sure this car was a stunner in its hey days:

I believe this is the same car. Found on OLX.
Although, I don't know how the seller can advertise it
in this state, if the current state is as seen in the facebook post.

Pavan Sir, any contact details for this one? Or do you know where I can find this car now?

Is that a Chevy Impala? coincidentally the registration number scribbled on the bumper looks like MHX 1982 which belongs to another fully restored Impala featured here (Chennai Heritage Auto Show, 2018).

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

I saw this video on YouTube, referred to by a friend. It’s a sad sight of such good classic and otherwise vehicles abandoned due to scrappage policy in the U.K.
It’s only a matter of time before the same law comes into force here. Is anyone allowed to hunt for spares in these cars? For people who love cars it’s a sad sight.

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

Visited a neighbouring house overlooking this Standard 8 rotting into oblivion

An old girlfriend of mine used to reside there and I am assuming this was her grandfathers car which most probably went to her uncle. I had never seen it so I assume it might have been rotting in a shed for ages

Yes, but the Chevy Biscayne in GTO's post (Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars)also seems to have the same registration on the bumper. Cant see it very clearly - but looks very much like "MHX 7982".

Going by the front grille, I would take it as a Standard 10/super 10 rather than an 8. Possible to take any more pics. of the car (if) on your next visit?

Re: Pics of weird and wacky mod jobs!

If I am not mistaken , this car is now lying at Mahim beach. Seems like it's gonna be scrapped soon.
