Stanher,

My heart goes out to this car, This is a 67 Bug.

Neat shape man, This car can still be restored.

My Beetle was in worse condition than
this.

Both cars are restorable Id say. Depends on how complete they are, we dont have the complete picture. The cars definitely arent 67 though. I date them between 62 and 64, Shyam says they are 62, so that must be it.

I dont think the WIAA can impound cars even if they want to. Thats the job of the Coppers.

Pavan,
If you are referring to Shyam's post #899, then I totally agree with you. I am willing to take up this project if can get a engine. Any suggestions on where to look for.

Here is something I picked up for spares , but with the present shortage of adequately priced cars , I think I will take it up as a renovation project some years hence. Price paid Rs 7000/-.

sorry for a late answer, but the car has the muffler broken, no rear seats, all the door rubbers dried out, so gone, then the bumpers are full of rust, there was also a problem with the suspension. sory but there's no interior pics. my point is this car is a great car. if the owner cannot keep it good, then why dont he just sell it to a good owner, or just give it to the scrapyard. its very bad to see such a great car to be in such in a condition, because i have been seeing the car for the past 4 years in the same condition.i mean i just love the car, thats why.

There are a lot of issues wrt money and time that pop up and can keep you from keeping your car shining. Its not that the owners dont care but sometimes unfortunately you just cant keep her shining all the time. Its a different thing if the owner doesnt care about the car.

Absolutely. I know a distant relative who faced the same problem. They had a 1954 Buick (not sure which one, though). It lay rotting for decades,as the family couldn't afford spending money to get the car fixed. And one fine day when the monetary situation looked bright, they got going and fixed the car in under 8 months!
