Question: Why is this fiat multi-coloured ?!? Or does this lady paint her in bits and pieces as she desires ? Quite an Objet D'Art I must say.

The car was originally Blue. Then it was Painted Red in a very haphazard way i presume. I Remember the car being Blue when i was really young. My cycle walah is just down the road so i used to regularly travel that road. The car hasent moved since ages now. Its a very sad story...
I think the same family also owns a 118NE which was recently painted Maroonish Red form white! The car is in excellent condition..or so it appears!

'saw this 4-door splitscreen Morris Minor languishing in a repair garage yesterday. I was told that the car's been there for years...it used to be lying in their shed, then moved out here recently, which explains the inflated tyres.

I was told it belonged to a lawyer who kept it lying in the same state until this mechanic bought it off him, claiming that he'd restore and use it. But he too did nothing with it!

And the car's sadly falling apart since, a real pity as it seems to be what was a very original car! Note the original hubcaps with the 'M' inscribed on them- rarely seen minors with these still intact!

I was told he's interested in selling it, quoting 1 lac for it! Interested, anyone??

Rusting in their cage...

I have been noticing these two ladies rusting in peace on Wind-Tunnel road, Off old Airport road, Bangalore. [Close to the gate of the HP office campus]. They have been there atleast since 2001, initially there were no gates for this shed, which have been added sometime later.

Not sure if the Standard is in a condition worth restoring, the Mercedes definitely seems to be in a decent condition. Hoping that a fellow Bhpian will lead a rescue mission to free these two old damsels...

Both cars evoke a lot of interest from me, but for varied reasons. Can you get us some more pictures of the cars, especially the Herald? It appears pretty special. Further comment on seeing more pics.

It sure does! If you mean the headlamp panels, as I do, then yes it could be one of those rare mk3 companions!!
And if it can be bought, this time, I'm not letting it go!

Both the above are government vehicles. I went and inquired(I stay right behind this place). They have been lying there because the original office shifted to a new place and the cars were left back.

What angles do you guys want pics from?

How about atleast the side of the herald?

'first time I'm hearing of a herald being used by the government though! Its apparent they eventually didn't like it and so left it in this state!
