Jaipur's 17th Vintage & Classic Car Rally - 24th & 25th January, 2015

The 17th annual Vintage and Classic car rally is to be held on 24th ( Exhibition) and 25th( Drive) of January 2015.

The Rally is on a long weekend, 26th Jan falling on a Monday, so there is an opportunity for enthusiast to have a 3 day Holiday in Jaipur.

This years event witnessed lesser cars and lesser people to view the cars,
the only car which came from outside city was the Ford fairline ? from Delhi.

Diya Kumari came for the flag-off and the CM Mrs. Vasundhara raje Scindia was the chief guest for the award ceremony, the cars were judged by Mr. Tutu Dhawan and one more observer, unfortunately I don't know his name. Mr. Madan Mohan also attended on 25th, unfortunately he did not bring any cars.

The yellow and black Model A coupe (don't know what the correct term is) caught my eye. I don't think I've seen another one in this bodystyle, and there is a huge survival rate of Model As, especially in Jaipur from what I can see (I can count 6 just in this rally!). The green Desoto convertible also looked very pleasing to me, especially with the period plates in the right combination. I've always thought I would buy a car of this sort some day (would even love the blue Dodge Stationwagon), but with soaring prices and fewer and fewer clean cars available, this seems a distant dream.
