hehe...that wheel is borrowed from his other similar rolls...both cars have the 3rd rear mounted spare missing, but both have twin sidemounts. 3 spares on a car? Eat your heart out Smart owners.

well, Adi Dubash had that combi, for a long long time and for sale.
Maybe, They were at one time stored at the Morvi's bunglow at KP, but then brought back to Mumbai and then finally after 6 years of trying, SOLD.

@ Iraghava- MoralFibre and me beat you to it...that is seeing this collection with "Distinguished Company".
The car collection is owned by a buinessman of Pune whos also a friend of Karlosdeville. One distinguished phone call and we were in business. We were escorted to his underground parking where a few of his beauties were parked away from prying public eyes. This is what we saw parked in a wet, damp and slightly flodded basement. Not exactly flodded but some parts of the basement we chose not to wander into, owing to the shoe deep, water accumulated there. I shudder to think what would happen if the area gets flodded. Well anyways, to each, his own but im sure the collecter knows what hes doing. What we got was a visual treat which I would like to share with all of you.

The Lincoln Continental previously owned by the Pope, which he gifted to Mother Theresa. Some blessed car this is. This was then sold to someone who sold it to the present owner. Shes a convertible with a factory built power soft top and in Mint condition. See MoralFibre posing next to the car in the pic

Iraghava's most wanted car, A Dodge Charger. Sorry could'nt get the front pics due to the water accumulated there, as you can see.







Two of my favourites, a Citroen Traction Avant and a VW Karmann Ghia Hard Top.
The Traction Avant six cylinder was a great car and in 1954, came with hydro pneumatic suspension, a mixture of liquid and gas and was known as the Queen of the Road.

The pride of the collection, A 1927 Rolls Royce with custom coachwork. I thought it was a 1925 but the placard near the pic of the Citroen and the Karmann Ghia says it is a 1927, so be it.

Note the small Fuel Guage externally fitted near the filler pipe. This is on the rear, near the boot of the car behind the rear mounted spare tyre.

The roller is indeed a 25. The placard saying 1927 belongs to his other rolls!

The Pierce Arrow, Citroen and hardtop Ghia are just parked there temporarily, and arent part of the same collection. They belong to another big time collector, with a much larger and equally impressive stable. Hes next on the agenda!

Great pics Gogi bhai, now this I really gotta see & that too in some "Distinguished" company!!!! Two things though:

- In the third pic of the Charger, the one with the left rear three-quarters, do I see some rust forming in the wheel arch?

- What footwear is the Avant running? Seems like Potenza's to me. And just to inform the rest of the members, the Citroen Traction Avant was the first FWD car made in large numbers after the Cord L29 of 1929. Also this was the first car to use Monocoque construction techniques. So it has a lot of historical importance!

Baaahh... what water? Bunch of scared buggers, couldn't even step in 2 inches of water to take a pic of the beautiful car!!! Thanks for the shots anyways J/K

And if anyone wants to see a beautiful, daily-drive (apart from the harsh summers!) Karmann Ghia, come to Delhi!!

Its so sad being these cars, they are so far away from their natural habitat. But atleast they are kept fit.

Yes thats rust but forget the rust focus on another Karmann in the background just above the rear Windscreen. That one was a convertible.
Regards the footwear, only you could ask such a question. Firstly it never dawned on any of us as we were gawking at the cars. Secondly there was miniscule lighting, mostly natural from the vents, which explains the phto quality.
As regards the scare of water, there was enough to scare us , especially if theres no light, the place smells musty and half the area is slippery, so what about the water filled ones..?? You already have other pics of the same car so stop complaining

OH you can say that again, they are in fantastic condition. As Karl pointed out that a few of them are actually owned by another collector, wait till you see his garage, you'll fall down!!

I doubt thats rust on the charger. She had her first repaint a little over a year back, it just might be collected dirt.

The Avant was also the first car to be factory fitted with radials. Michelin had a close association with Citroen.

Yup, the hardtop Ghia, soft top Pierce Arrow, merc 170V and Citroen are just parked there for the rains. Their owner has a massive collection, equally impressive.

My vague memory tell me that there was some story behind how those pedal covers on the Rolls were obtained... I dont remember anything more.. was about 10 years old (i think) when I last saw that collection..
probably karl would be able to elaborate...
