Thanks for the clarification. I wonder in which month it was introduced. My 1972 Delight was registered in March.

Please check the year of manufacture also. I know a single owner 1972 February registered delite in kerala, its year of manufacture is 1971.Since it was the era of licensed production it could be that cars manufactured in 1971 would be sold till end of march 1972.

I have checked the RC books on three 1972 Delights, year of manufacture and registration all 1972. It was possibly a transition year.

Re: The Premier Padmini Starline 'Safari' Station Wagon

An ad for the wagon from Jaipur dealers Kamal & Co. While the design looks identical to the Starline design, I wonder if this was their own manufactured product. Over to KartikeyaL.

Note the car is simply branded 'The New Premier'.

An interesting aftermarket conversion posted originally here (Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)).

A Starline wagon in good shape, I assume in Bangalore. Unsure of the source of the image.

Looks like one from the fleet of Starlines that was with Kudremukh Iorn Ore Company Ltd (from the number series). Could be in Bangalore or in Mangalore, where lot of these ended up

Nice find

Best regards & Drive Safe

A neat period shot of member Anwesh's Starline Safari posted here. (The FIAT 1100/Premier Padmini Technical Information thread)

Some more pictures of this 1975 Padmini Safari wagon - I assume this is not a Starline product, with the rear hatch having a much less pronounced slope, almost totally vertical. The original RC does call it a "Premier Safari Stn. Wgn."

Again note the PAD suffix to the VIN stamping (D for driveaway added)

The body design seems to be an identical match the Premier brochure - seen here in panel van form. The dimensions of the glasses, position of handles inside and out are perfect matches. Wonder who constructed this one.

Re: The Premier Padmini Starline 'Safari' Station Wagon

Premier Automobiles built some drive away chassis cars as mobile service units. Would be a very cool car to recreate I remember Behram Dhabhar talking about these Starline backup vehicles used in the Himalayan rallies - can anyone dig out the post or some images?

Re: The Premier Padmini Starline 'Safari' Station Wagon

A Starline Safari wagon is seen in the movie 'Ente Mamattukkuttiyammakku'
The Premier Padmini Starline 'Safari' Station Wagon-img_1353.png

A closeup of the original taillights with the thick plastic frame - wonder if the lenses are common to the Contessa?

Also note the Premier Starline badge on the rear right fender. Still looking for any good original references
