The 19th annual Vintage and Classic car rally is to be held on 25th ( Exhibition) and 26th ( Drive) of February 2017.

I had the pleasure to attend the exhibition event this year as well albeit for just half an hour. Saw some new cars at display. These beauties never fails to amaze me!

Read in the today's paper that one car met with an accident while returning to Delhi after the event. Two persons were rushed to the hospital as well.
Really unfortunate to hear!

Wow! What a transformation! Sometimes tis hard to believe but some cars/bikes actually can turn out really good even without restoration with just a minor finishing touch here and there, plus mechanical overhaul as required! Indeed refreshingly different to look at, though in no way am I putting down restoration projects! But IMHO, atleast to the extent possible, let there be more of 'preservation' category cars as well! They can all the more stand out this way!
How was the surface rust on the panels handled? Was it treated with phosphoric acid?

Stanher,
Since the car in on original paint, no acids were used, it was thoroughly cleaned with soap and water and sanding paper (2000) was used to remove dirt and rust, after that a coat of clear lacquer was applied and again sanding was done.

There is still a lot of rust which needs to be removed and I am afraid in order to preserve and protect her, sooner or later this car would need a restoration/paint job.

Making its debut at the Jaipur rally was this 1931 Ford A Tudor, which went through a complete grounds up restoration at Ghani auto's, Jaipur. This car won the prize for the best restoration in vintage category.
