Hyderabad Collection

greetings

i recently visited hyderabad to see a private collection of cars id heard so much about, and wasnt dissapointed! though the collection is over 40 cars in number (and i guess 20 odd bikes), these are just a few of the best...

omnipresent superbeetle...

1947 desoto fluid drive

fiat 1100, a family car from new. nice number!

late 20s ford model A, with rumble seat...an ex nizam car, in fabulous condition....note early hyderabad plates...

My favorite of the lot, very very rare huppmobile streamline...look at the 3 piece windscreen! (excuse lousy pics, my camera was acting up...)

Jaguar Mk 7...

Hillman minx...a family car, it was sold and bought back at some point...

I really fell for this 47 dodge, also with fluid drive...cabrios are hard to come by, and shes a beaut!

this kingsway too is an ex royal car, and totally original, down to paint and upholstry!

the dodges were complemented by a pair of packards, in immaculate condition...the later car was driven down from gujarat on a diesel engine with the original in the boot!

and amongst the bikes, check this out...a genuine moto guzzi!

Wow Karlos! Where in Hyderabad is this collection? And the bike collection... is it owned by the same person, or somebody else who stays in Secbad, near marredpally?

the cars and bikes are part of the same collection, belonging to capt pestonjee...there is the other bike collection in secunderabad which i visited as well, but i havent gotten the pics yet...will post them as soon as i get it...

u betcha! wasnt expecting this level of variety or restoration...the pics just dont do justice...

U know, it just makes one wonder..."how many times would i have passed by that house with this collection housed inside, without even the faintest idea."

whenever I discover stuff like this, I would like to perform a trick nobody would have seen before...bend over and kick myself.

hey, well, im not sure geographically where he is, (went to yderabad after 14 years!) hes got a big textile industry, not difficult to find by asking around

unfortunately had a look at only 5-6 of the unerstored cars and bikes...another trip is in order i suppose!!!
