Part of me was hoping the gorgeous patina on the paint would be left as it is with a coat of clear sprayed on top like the guys at Gas Monkey Garage did a few time on their show Fast N' Loud!

i am too a sucker for the patina finish but it would not clear fitness with that kind of paint, The authorities don't understand the importance of leaving the exterior as is.

Parts are easily available for most American cars on eBay or with dealers abroad and if one is lucky parts can be found in India too, you just have to be patient and keep looking.

Chassis is fully restored with all new suspension, shockers , arm bushes , steering ends and engine and transmission mounts, all parts imported from USA.







The body has been united with chassis and tinkering work is in progress now.

Update :

Tinkering work is almost complete, the car has received a coat of primer and now the car is with the painters for putty-ing and preparing the base for paint job.

Meanwhile some parts are awaited from the US like mouldings, cosmetics etc,
they are also looking for a shipping agency which picks/ships Glass, as the rear glass has to be imported.

This is legend stuff Kartikeya !! Takes a lot of guts, time and patience to work on restoring a beauty like this. But I guess more than any of that, it takes real love for cars that makes you do these things. Here's wishing you loads of luck to achieve success and hope to see this beauty on the road soon !

They have used 3M rubber coat for the underside, i have asked for more details.

As I had mentioned earlier this is not my car, owned by my friends, my involvement is only from the hobby point of view.

The base is almost ready and the car got another coat of primer in preparation for the paint job, though they are still struggling with the choice of colour.

The car received its final coat of primer and was recently taken for a test drive.

Cheers to your painstaking effort to bringing this old neglected tired old lass to her crowning glory.

Will you two tone her White and Blue, or Silver and Blue? What about the interior?

This colour reminds me of my dad's old Ambassador Mark 2. Sky Blue with white walled tyres. I loved that car MMF 9647, which was always kept in mint condition. She was robbed during the rains back then never got her back.

Would you hot rod it like seen on Fast And Loud, or Chip Foose, or keep it stock?
