The Federation of Historic Vehicles of India (FHVI) is having their inaugural event which is 'The FHVI Royal Classic Car Drive to Mysore' on Sunday the 30th of September- 2nd October 2018

India's first nationwide Federation of Historic Vehicles, the Federation of Historic Vehicles of India (FHVI). We are associated with the Federation Internationale Vehicules Anciens (FIVA) the definitive association concerned with Historic Vehicles, and is an official partner of UNESCO, in preserving the world's automotive heritage.

FHVI aims to showcase the grand Indian Heritage of Vintage and Classic Cars, Bikes and Utilitarian Vehicles. With over 1,000 members and 6,000 vehicles ours is a glorious endeavor to bring together vintage car enthusiasts, and automotive aficionados of all kinds under one roof.

Details about the inaugural event

Our inaugural effort is the 'The FHVI Royal Classic Car Drive to Mysore' on Sunday the 30th of September- 2nd October 2018.

It is an exclusive drive flagged off by the Chief Minister of Karnataka, no less, and the destination is the beautifully opulent Lalitha Palace, Mysore.

In attendance with their cars ranging from Mercedes, M.G, Jaguar, Ford, Wolseley, Buick, Chevrolet, Morris, Austin, Alfa Romeo, Triumph, Sunbeam, Lincoln etc will be participants: Their Royal Highness's, Pradyumen Singh Lucknow, Vikram Singh of Jaipur, Jithendra Deshprabhu of Goa, Patrick Rollet, the President of FIVA and a giant in the field of automotive history will be present as well, along with others such as Mr. Asgi Akbarally and Mr. Bri Ponnambalam from Sri Lanka, Mr. M.S Guhan of AVM Studios, Mr. Ranjit Pratap from Chennai to name a few.

This exclusive event has 50 vintage car owners from across the globe (India, England, France, Sri Lanka) to experience the three day immersive experience into a time gone by.

The Government of Karnataka (Tourism) is an official partner, and is kick starting the Mysore Dasara festivities with the flag off by the Honourable Chief Minister himself inside the stately and elegant Vidhana Soudha: after he hosts the visitors for tea.

The grand cavalcade moves past the cheering public, and takes the winding green country roads towards Mysore. At Mysore, all 50 vehicles will be exhibited in front of the Mysore Palace for the illumination ritual, with over 40,000 onlookers. Dasara, the festival of victory of good over evil will thus be declared open. Elegant luncheons in palaces and stately dinners at historic locations await the visitors, inviting them to give in to the splendor of the state of Mysore during Dasara.

This event has some great cars taking parts, details of which I hope to post here soon, hopefully we will get pictures and report of the event from Bhpians who might attend this event.

Since it is over 2-3 days, am wondering if there is a Bangalore destination or stop-over.

THe FHVI site (https://www.fhvi.org/) does not have any information.

I will be there throughout the event as my company is one of the sponsors.

The route, from what I know, is the standard route. It starts in BLR on Sunday morning at 7:00 am and will reach Mysore by lunch time.

Evening, they are planning a photo shoot of some sort.

Monday, everyone stays in Mysore and then on Tuesday, the convoy returns.

I will get more details and post here tomorrow.

The FHVI is an organisation that has been started by the famous collector, Dr Ravi Prakash. Dr Ravi Prakash's cars have been at the Pebble Beach Concourse and many other events around the globe.

Looks like they have gone live on Instagram.

The event will be flagged off from Vidhana Soudha early morning on Sunday by the Honourable Chief Minister.

The convoy is scheduled to reach Lalitha Mahal hotel for lunch.

Sunday evening, there is a photo shoot scheduled at Mysore Palace with the Dasara lighting.

Team Cent Ind Vintage Automotive Association (CIVAA), Nagpur left Nagpur for Bangalore with four cars this morning, to participate in the Federation of Heritage Vehicles of India (FHVI) , Bangalore - Mysore Rally during Sept 30- Oct 3, 2018. Some foreign entries are also on the anvil.
The oldest cars are the 1940's Ford GPW jeep and the 1951 Ford Consul. A 1962 Mercedes Benz Heckeflosse (W 111) and a 1968 Volkswagen Microbus are also moving. The team has reached Hyderabad this evening.
