Hidden vintage bike archive, Hyderabad!

I hap'd to meet this gent named Mr. Mody at the 26th jan vintage car/bike rally here & he gave me his address, introducing himself. He happens to be a professional restorer of all makes of 2-wheelers, particularly old ones.

'hap'd to meet him at his home cum workshop the next day wher he showed me his enormous (& rather scary!) collection of restored, unrestored & 'pending' bikes dating back to the 20s! Cant rem. all their names tho....most of them r his.....hez also got a few Vespas & a Lambretta, wich hez selling shortly....he'd also brought one of his early Nortons to the rally, wich hez now sold as well:

These r among his 'finished' fleet:

Nearly done is this 1947 500cc Sunbeam shaft-drive.....looks lovely altho cudnt imagine being able to take it off its stand!

The name was screen-printed on the tank...neat!

1957 R.Enfield 350....

And at the back of his workshop is this massive 'treasure trove' of various unrestored bikes, bike frames & parts....did seem rather spooky to me!

This is a bike (cant rem. the name!) w/ sumthing like a 4-wheel drive gear tat can enable it to climb up mountain slopes...

This is a relatively 'modern' Honda monkey-bike:

Mody has Hero Honda Showroom in Hyderabad called Mody Motors.

The Sunbeam is an Inline Twin and is Shaft-Driven. It's like having 2 cylinders one behind the other and then the crank shaft is directly connected to the Rear-Wheel Shaft ...
