If it was maroon in colour it is in Maharashtra. A coupe as an MD's car was rather odd.

Cheers harit

That public sector company was a free for all. Never made a profit. The guy used to fly abroad at a drop of a hat. Even arranged part of his journey to fly concorde!

It was white by the way!

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Greetings to Harit, regarding the comment on the 39 Buick, I have surfed and scrolled, and when I arrive at the photo, I cannot find a means of making a specific reference. It is within a series of photos, and I have been absent from the search for so long, I have no way of returning to the site rather than the tedious process of one by one elimination. Thank you for your interest.

For New York Taxis in the late 90s and till 2010' Ford had to introduce the very popular Crown Victoria with extended wheelbase and wider back doors and larger floor area but no jump seats .

Hi Pavan,

Really nice car and when you are through with it - will be a smashing piece. Does it still have the original engine ?

There seems to be some difference in the time period of the photos ? The second photo (interior - das etc) in the central divider is plain and in the last but one photo, there seem to be an extra switch set there ?

What is that switch ?

All the best

Best Regards & Drive Safe

It Sports a 327 Cu in,5.4 litre Turbo Fire V8 Engine, 380 Horsepower , 2 door, Pillerless Fastback Coupe. Most importantly a Single owner till date.

The mechanic spent some quality 3 hours on the engine tuning it, and i got some gallons of petrol, a good big fat battery and we finally fired up the Monster.

Here are the videos

Is not this beetle originally having Karnataka Registration? Then it must have come to you from the Allepey based jeweller. It was advertised for sale a few years ago.A photo of the engine room would be nice

Yes Ajay. The car initially belonged to a local guy I knew. I kept quoting for the car for years. One fine day he sold it to the jeweller in Aleppey. And a few years later, I bought it at a price lower than what I'd quoted initially!

Will post pics of the engine bay soon. Dont have any photos of it on hand.

The car was with one Jomy and he had advertised it for sale in AUTOINDIA in 2003.The car was better originality wise then,(except for alloy wheels)
After 2-3years it was bought by this Roy who did a lot of alterations and again it was put up for sale in 2007.
