As for the WB registration, brings me to this interesting post.

It's neither a GTO (goat) nor a 442. Has four doors. Otherwise great to see a Cutlass (probably Supreme) in this condition.

And for the WB reg. thing, the car that has been mentioned in that post is a blue Oldsmobile. So, there are less chances of both of them being the same car.
Tis neither a GTO, 442 nor a coupe. Has four doors. Most likely a Cutlass Supreme. Hard to tell with the photos given. Still, It's heart warming to know there are car "nuts" all over this world. Good for GHP.

The 4 doors indicate it being a Cutlass Supreme as I said in the previous post.
BTW, what do you mean by 'GHP' ?

The motor is a Nissan A12, isn't it? Definitely not the FIAT 103 i-4.

Boss, this engine is 118 NE one, homologated and made in India from whatever, Nissan came with Hitachi carburettor and the earlier models in India too, but were pain. I have had my trouble dealing with them. Later mikuni was installed, they were known to me and much better to work.

S1's motors did look quite similar to the FIAT 103 i-4. It just had reworked internals, and a catcon as well.

Nissan A12=118 NE Engine.

It is well known that this motor was a Nissan mill. The technology was originally licensed from the BMC. Already being outdated, yet they used it. A decade or so later, they sold the tech for peanuts to PAL.

If it looks familiar to Ambywallahs- It was derieved from the same engine family as the Amby.

As an aside- The FIAT 103 i-4, we all think that the engine had origins in 1953/54, right? BUT- That motor has been existing since 1935/36.

Two decades older, than generally thought.

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Ladies & gentlemen, MTE 3108.

I was in Nagpur for a while, recently. While on a walk with the dogs, (), I stumbled upon this Willys pretty close to NEERI.

Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India-wp_20141025_016.jpg

Look ma! No Jeep!

A bit of searching around, and here's what I got. Coincidentally, I knew about this Willys prior to me seeing it. So you can imagine-accidentally stumbling upon a vehicle, that you had seen online, by chance at that.

The thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...storation.html

My post in there: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/4x4-ve...ml#post3575072

No wonder I thought, when I first saw the thread- the locality does look familiar. And then- I stumbled upon the Jeep, quite by chance.

And, lo! A new neighbour was discovered, with very, very similar interests!

As an aside, I was moving around. Anjanji stays pretty close to our locality, I thought I would see BYJ 276 on prowl, particularly given the time of the year.

Saw some other cars- mostly BYJ's. (). A daily runner Lambretta was seen, again BYJ registered, and so was BYJ 4656, Amby.

Also a Standard 10, which I've been seeing for time immemorial. In blue, Oxford Blue, I guess. Again, it is a "BY"- perhaps BYJ or any other series. Unlikely to be BYH 4996, illustrated in the screenshot below.

Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India-byh4996.png

Before I forget- there is an MHX registered Vespa, daily runner, somewhere in Dharampeth, near the CM's residence, IIRC. A white MK-II Amby, as well.

There's many, many more. And this is my 499th post! Whew!
