I think what kasli mentioned as "TD" (Transit Document) and what sankar009 mentions as "Carnet" are one and the same - in that it allows a car registered in a country to enter another country or pass through with in a specified period of time (usually 6 months from date of entry).

Difference is "English" - TD and "French" - carnet de passage

Clicked this 1964 Lincoln Continental yesterday at Pune racecourse. This '64 Continental was imported to India for the Pope during his visit. Later, it was gifted to Mother Teresa. Currently the car is in immaculate condition with Mr. Ramesh Thakkar.

A 1946 Chevrolet fleetmaster that's always parked in the parking lot at woodlands hotel, Madras. I remember posting a pic of the same car years ago and someone mentioned it belonged to the late owner and is hence retained there. Good gesture but wish it got a bit more TLC - like atleast a sheltered /covered parking to begin with! The Madras coastal air is already taking its toll on the metalwork! Also original cosmetic parts for these chevys should still be available on ebay etc. and very much affordable for the owners!

I wonder what's the red stain/mark near the hood ornament. Hope it's just a stain and not an issue with the paint, considering the car recently arrived from US after undergoing restoration.

I doubt whether it is a stain at all,but looks more like the reflected image of something.
