I think that MG TC Supercharged Roadster is only for representation purposes

That is a really lovely MG TC! The supercharger (usually a Villiers unit) on the nose can be clearly seen - so nope AKV10, not a representational shot!

That is only representational. No super charged MG in Bangalore as far as I now.

Oops, my bad KPS! Tho' why one would use a photograph of a genuine car for representation only on a brochure for an actual event beats me.

In any case, i dont think the TC was ever supercharged, Magnettes and perhaps vintage Midgets were.

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

This car is a relatively uncommon in India. Here is a 1952 Peugeot 203 from Bangalore, originally a Pondy Car

Quote:
The 203 was Peugeot's first new model launched after World War II. During its twelve-year production run nearly 700,000 203s of all variants rolled off the assembly line in Sochaux, France. Between the demise of the 202 in 1949 and the launch of the 403 in 1955, the 203 was the only model produced by Peugeot.

The 203 was the first monocoque bodied production Peugeot.[1] The car was eye catchingly modern and bore a marked resemblance to the American Chevrolet Fleetline fastback, although its wind cheating profile also reflected the streamlining trend apparent in some of Europe's more modern designs, including some of Peugeot's own 402 model, from the 1930s.

Aditya, it appears that the TC was indeed supercharged (not factory-fitted) as per the following link - (https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/231...tegory=results) - and was for sale as late as 2016 at an auction.

The Magnette was supercharged as befitted small displacement racing cars of the period (the K3 had a 1.1 L 6-cyl supercharged engine while the later 1934 ND Magnette had a 1.3 L 6-cyl unit) and, as press reports of the period mention, competed successfully against larger more exotic machinery, thanks to the handicap it enjoyed due to its small engine capacity!

Yes, that's what i meant to say, that the factory did not supercharge the TC. 😃

There were two in Mumbai which I clearly remember, one in the Kotak collection in black color, and one green lying at Kemp's Corner. There may have been a third, now memory is fading. I believe that one had even lost it's grill. The green one had moved on, can't recall where it had landed up.

Cheers harit

I used to see this car at the pump on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg near the ITO. It was grey at the time.

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

Just saw this near my house. Seemed to be thoroughly maintained and probably even restored.
Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India-img_20190421_182521.jpg
Now, I don't really have a lot of knowledge about classics and vintage cars but even I recognised this as a Morris which speaks volumes about the car's popularity I guess

According to the registration, it is more than 65 years old. However, it has a modern number plate and a very recent series. Can any expert please tell me how that is possible? Most of the classics still have the original white on black plates.

(Apologies for the grainy pics)

Cheers!
