These cars may have been posted here before-
I happened to park next to these great grandpas when i was at a hotel in coimbatore. I learnt that they belonged to the hotel owner. Infact there was a museum-ed Ford kept on display but my pic was not so clear thus didnt post.

That is because the owner must either not be knowing that it came there or is unable to source it locally. It could also have been pulled of by Vandals. The car is the Traction Avante Mpower.

Further info on the earlier discussed International.

Quote:
Some wanted to hear more about my International. Firstly, it is not a contraption. It is a Woody station wagon. The mechanicals as well as the body are original. It is probably the only one in India, though there are several others like Chevy's. Fords etc.
This particular one was owned by Central Railway. In fact it had once been entered by them in a Vintage car rally. Later, a guy from Chor Bazar approached and asked if we were interested to buy this because he bought it from an auction. We agreed and got direct delivery from the Railway workshop in Parel.
Somehow the railways did not feel any need to preserve some of their heritage. We bought this van, but others must have been scrapped. And now you do not see them around. When we took her out from the workshop, a police van was passing by and the cops got down having a good look, saying that they used to have these too.
This is a 1947/48 International KB2, 6 cylinder petrol. The Harvester name is not mentioned anywhere, though the company was called International Harvester.
The van came without hubcaps and when you get me a set of International wheel caps I shall remove the SAAB caps.
End of the story.

This 1919 Citroen is part of the Jasdanwalla's superb collection. Here she is in 2007, Bombay. I don't care much for the extra brass accents everywhere, I assume they are later additions.

A Superbly Original and REALLY REALLY shiny Austin 8 has been just added to the illustrious list of cars present in Dadar Parsi Colony. The car is in absolutely fabulous shape. The guy also owns a Hummer H2, A LX470, A S500, a cople of exotic bikes and a late 80s volvo. Will post pictures soon if i get an opportunity to click them.

Yup, and a fantastic restoration at that. I think she is aluminium bodied. Ex Idar state, the car took Concours d'Elegance at a recent event. The owner also has a lovely Morris Minor low light convertible, 47 Rover, a Hudson (I think) and a Thrupp and Maberly bodied 20hp Rolls under restoration. He also has/had a Triumph bike regd 2 numbers earlier than mine.

. The car has been Restored at my place and is a lovely peice of Machinary. She is an Aluminium body and an ex Idhar car. Moris Minor convertible was ex Marezpand car. The Rolls was also being done at our place but when we shifted the garage from worli, Mr.A. took the car away. He had more than one bike Karl. He also had a ford V8 tourer which is sold.

You are right - it is the same car shown earlier on another thread. It is now in worse condition. But it has a good engine - 6 cylinders twin carbs - starts well. Car is complete except for the taillights. The car is now in Chennai and has been picked up by a big person. So it's condition is going to get better. Unfortunately is does not have a wooden dashboard like the Austin Princess. Mohaan

Thats great news! I was told this car was for sale in chennai as well, and was given the contact no.
But dropped the idea as I cant afford another project for now! But glad that it went into good hands ultimately!

Yes, Stanher, I had given you details. I felt very sorry for the car but couldnt take it up as I had my hands full with quite a few restorations. I pursuaded my friend to take it and am helping him bring it back to shape. Work has already started in right earnest.
