Its a late 40s Austin A-40 Devon. Missing the front bumperguards though.

There is a similar car also in Black (originally light grey) in Marredpally, Secunderabad.

Thanks fot digging this out.

I will have to really get in touch with the other drivers of the Ford Capri to dig out the correct number of the Car.

Shall revert with the correct number. Last I saw that car was in April 1979. So may have mixed up the digits.

Could be a 1950 Mercury Monterey - A very rare piece in India.The 1950 offering was a changeover from the 1949 model with a sleeker body line.

Thats actually a 51 Mercury and used to belong to the Pingle family .....the owner had dropped in a Diesel

Is it running a petrol engine now or still Diesel.

They used to live opp the Lifestyle place in Begumpet

On another note I used to own a 51 Lincoln Sports Sedan that shared the same bodyshellwith this Mercury

Those cars are the Shah Alam Khan car collection.

The cars are all single owner one family owned cars.

From left to right

Dodge Convertible Sedan - late thirties
Packard Sedan - late forties
Buick Super Sedan - 51/52
Buick 8
Buick Super Sedan 1939

First car from left was grey blue colour convertible, was regular to Grammar School in 70's to bring lunch for 3 Alam brothers, one of them was my classmate. It is nice time to remember. FD Khan's son used to
come in blue Vanguard with round type tail lights. It is well maintained
classic car collection of Shah Alam family.

I think there is one more car in that collection that is not shown in this picture, either a Packard or a Buick, cant remember.

Also that Yellow Buick 8 used to be Black earlier
