A report from The Autocar, June 23rd 1944. It speaks of a 1932 Alvis Speed 20, bought in London in 1939, and at the time in Poona with a British officer. Engine number 10342, chassis number 14645, British registration number GY 2543, and Poona registered BYF 1048. Coachwork was by Vanden Plas, a foursome drophead coupe.

The van is an Austin A-30 while the rusted remains are of an Austin 7. Good luck to these two so that they return back to the road.

1929 DeSoto MODEL K ROADSTER ESPANOL Chassis no. OW 152 L Engine no. K8599. This car has an Indian connection

Its first owner was one Evelyn Samuelson, whose missionary work took her to India. On her way, she entered the DeSoto in the 1930 Monte Carlo Rally, where Cadet Al Berlesco drove it to a second-place finish, just behind the winning Licorne.

Samuelson continued on to India, where she remained until the eve of World War II. She brought the car back with her on her return to England in 1938

Never heard of this, such a beautiful looking car. priced very close to the model A of the time but seemingly better specced with a 6 cyl engine and nicer lines. I wonder why they weren’t as popular as the Ford and didn’t sell as well.

Saw these Buick Eight's coupe and convertible in Fort Mumbai.

Saw this Ford Model-A Phaeton at a wedding in Kolkata. The car had Ambassador meters and a few other incorrect bits, but it retained quite a few original parts. The driver claimed that the car still has its original engine. He told me that the restoration cost the owner 4 lakh rupees. Can anybody determine which year it is from?
